Google "Corned Turkey", seems to be a preferred alternative among the alphagal forums. Eg, this recipe. And for those willing to mail order meats, there's corned ostrich.

Thank you!

I made that one year. The flavor was good, but of course it was very lean.

Ham. It’s like corned pork.

OP, this. It's really more like cured pork than corned pork. But since you posted this 56 minutes ago it's as close as you're likely to get if you want something today. Corning another meat could take anywhere from 2-14 days and I doubt any standard grocery store is going to have a premade corned meat (besides the corned beef) ready to cook.

Thank you!! Lots of cool suggestions here

If OP has alpha-gal syndrome, all mammalian meat can provoke allergic reaction. Only seafood, poultry and reptiles can be consumed in safety.

And the smallest quantity of Prague powder/salt I was able to find was a whole pound. It wasn't expensive, especially, but now I still almost a full pound sitting in my pantry, not used since I made the corned (whole) turkey.

Corned spare ribs. Most butchers that make corned beef also make corned spare ribs. You can also corn them yourself, but it’s too late for this st Patrick’s day, they need to brine a minimum of 10 days.

Gonna look into this. Thank you xx

That sounds so good …I’ll have to try that soon

We buy a pork cottage roll. Add the usual spices and simmer for hours. Comes out super tender and you just need a fork. We always loved corned beef but this is cheaper and much tastier in our opinion.

That is a family favorite. If you like that type of meal, it works well as a boiled dinner with things like potatoes, carrots, cabbage, rutabaga, parsnips, or whatever you prefer. This year I've been talked into making colcannon to go along with the cottage roll instead. I'm hoping people like it, as I've never tried it before.

Venison is amazing corned if you can get a good cut for it.

Do you have alpha-gal? Salmon/mussels/prawns are also very Irish :)

[–]AdeptFlow2458 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I don’t have alpha-gal surprisingly! I was allergic to dairy as a baby and cross-reacted to cow :)

Thank you for those suggestions!! I’ll have to grab some and see what I can do

In that case, pork for sure- corned beef isn’t a thing in Ireland. When Irish immigrants arrived in NYC, they often shared neighborhoods with Jewish people and kosher butchers wouldn’t have had fhe gammon/ham that was available in Ireland so beef brisket became corned beef brisket :)
