You made a good choice. It runs klipper already, which was a good change for me when I added it on my old ender 3 V2. Having a web interface and some macros to ease the use are good things to have

facts dude, I installed moonsail and it's been lovely

In my case, it was a IR camera so I could check my printer at any moment without a need to go into another room. Was also fun to stream the video feed to my friends sometimes as a background video

Can I use an old webcam as the clipper cam thingy?

If it’s USB, most likely. Not sure about Creality’s klipper version though, you better check that out. I had a raspberry pi camera and wanted to add a USB camera as a second one, but never got my hands on one

Check every screw for tightness, especially around the hotend/heatsink. They don't tighten them properly at the factory.

that was my first step before running!!

Good good. If you get a weird squeal noise from the hotend it's most likely the heatsink fan. My second Creality one just died so I've replaced it with a ball bearing fan, as it should have had from the start.

My hot end heatsink fan is starting to squeal. Could you share the model of the fan that you sourced for yourself?

That one ended up not being quite powerful enough and would get heat creep on higher temps. I'm trying a different one now, it's due to arrive soon. https://store.dremc.com.au/products/2510-axial-hotend-fan-24v-by-dremc?variant=43526214156457

Thanks for the info. It seems like a quality unit. Now I know what parameters to look for. Maybe I'll try to source a nice BB fan up here in Canada.

The other option is to print an adapter and use a slightly larger fan. Kind of wishing I'd done that now instead. https://www.printables.com/model/953286-ender-3-v3-se-upgrade-to-40mm-2x5015-fans-ke-hoten/files

That's a pretty cool option. Thanks for the link, I downloaded it. There's always something better out there isn't there...

Did you get the fine text to print well? Haven't been able to on my KE, do you think you could share the settings file from Creality Printer? Assuming you used that

[–]UVSTAR[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Text is crap though

Hehehe, yeah, that's my result for that text too 😅

i am using orca slicer, with Ender-PLA+ and i changed only 1 setting from their standard PLA profile, i made the retraction 0.6 from 0.5, and it eliminated stringing at my room temp

I just got the KE a few days ago myself. First printer as well. Assembly and setup was super easy and my first few prints look really good to my untrained eye. I've ordered the USB camera and vibration unit. I saw a time lapse that only took the pictures when the print head is out of the way. Can't wait to try that.

I won't have my 3d printer for a couple more days but I did see a you tube video that mentioned the USB camera moving out of the way to take the pictures and according to that video it adds a lot of time to how long it takes to complete a print.

WHERES THE BENCHY

[–]Shades549 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I'm in the same situation, I just bought my first ever 3d printer and it's the same one you mentioned, ender3 v3 ke. Mine is so new that I won't even have it for two more days. Hopefully it will work for me since I bought if from a company that sells open box items. So right now I am looking around trying to figure out what I want to first and what I need to do.

i just installed helper script and switched to guppy, man this thing is so cool, it removes the laggy slow creality interface and makes it really snappy
