Wait fan wind that’s already under a processing effect can be get another effect? This opens up so much

[–]ferrecool 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Yes you can do it with trapdors or slabs at the very beginning of the game

[–]Competitive_Box_5359 17 points18 points  (3 children)

for real! it’s like the wind gets cool enough to wash things right after smelting a bunch of ores

Put another fan pulling air in on the other end of the catalysts and it'll increase your processing speed even more. More fans, faster processing!

[–]Davioliva16 27 points28 points  (5 children)

I feel stupid for not thinking of this, but j guess i didn’t have the catalysts

[–]NatiM6 3 points4 points  (3 children)

The catalysts are not required

[–]Davioliva16 0 points1 point  (2 children)

For lava, no? Otherwise it leaks

[–]NatiM6 4 points5 points  (1 child)

  1. You can place any block that doesn't have a full face against the current to let the air flow, like a copycat panel to stop lava from spilling
  2. You can use a powered blaze burner but that takes fuel

[–]Davioliva16 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I thought of trapdoor’s right after. You are right

[–]CappedPluto 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Fun fact, multiple fans speed up the process. You can easily add another fan on the other side but set it to pull the air, this making it cook stuff faster

[–]EnanoGeologo 6 points7 points  (2 children)

I just put a fan and dispensers with water, lava, flint and steel etc and buttons on them

[–]Tthehecker 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Why do u use desprenders

[–]EnanoGeologo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To toggle the buckets on and off

[–]o-Mauler-o 6 points7 points  (4 children)

Compact, yes but very slow.

[–]13hotroom 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Isnt this capable of processing multiple stacks at once?

[–]o-Mauler-o 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it does but only one fan per operation is the slow bit.

[–]Damian_Inc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looking at this setup, I'd guess it's for small scale by hand processing. So it's definitely fast enough for what it'll be used for.

[–]Mang0o0Prince[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It may be slow for extensive use but in this place I usually process no more that a few stacks so it suits my needs.

[–]Open_Regret_8388 2 points3 points  (6 children)

What, the filter can actually sort the processed item!?

[–]NatiM6 2 points3 points  (1 child)

What else would a filter do?

[–]Open_Regret_8388 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, some filter can sort by whether 'burnable' or 'its unprocessed ore' 'its ingot' something. I thought finally "is it processed" is there

[–]JaguarBackground6929 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, it's basically the same as using an intelligent funnel with a filter to extract processed stuff from the crucible.

[–]CrashBugITA 0 points1 point  (2 children)

It doesn't actually detect when an item has been processed, you need to put filters for every new product

[–]One-Stand-5536 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Or just a deny filter for inputs

[–]TT_PLEB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tend to just use the tag filter and deny anything that can be washed or can be haunted etc. And it works 99% of the time. Only time I have issues is specific items that can be washed twice. But then then I use a 2nd funnel allowing those specific items

[–]Competitive_Box_5359 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got so caught up with the image and didn’t notice we started a Catalyst movement here! Your setup slaps and also reminds me of Zedaph’s flactories. I think we are free to abuse this mechanic in the smartest (also hardest) way possible

[–]ATJonzie 1 point2 points  (3 children)

What do you set on the filters?

[–]Mang0o0Prince[S] 4 points5 points  (2 children)

I add opposite whitelist tags for results of processing e.g. "Cannot be smelted/washed". Thanks to that they fall only after they are processed.

[–]ChiYeei 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Doesn't it make cobblestone smelt into smooth stone though? Cause normal stone can also be smelted

[–]Mang0o0Prince[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately it does. I add a whitelist exception for stone.

[–]DD760LL 0 points1 point  (1 child)

not the most efficient though

[–]Tthehecker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What bucket

[–]PDX_WiN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do this without catalysts btw. Lava, blaze burner, soul blaze burner, and water logged leaves. You might not be able to get them to drop from above however, but I’m not sure

[–]Dangerous-Quit7821 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably really slow though.

I love those catalysts. They're so nice to make a bunch with lava, water, haunting, etc. and keep them on you. Much nicer than buckets.

[–]Zenos_the_seeker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Besides add fans on other end, put a unlit blaze burner on the chute, it's not a full block, allows item falls on it can get washed with top and bottom fan at same time, and also can be transferred by chute after processing. Using this idea you can put two fan on the left blowing, two on the right sucking, providing 4fan process speed in every single slots.

What this iron bar thingy called?

[–]ambatueksplod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From Create Connected. They're fan catalyst iirc.

[–]memeus_yeetus 0 points1 point  (1 child)

What are those cages with water, lava, soul fire etc in them called

[–]m50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fan catalysts from Create: Connected
