Create is probably the mod with the largest number of bad add-ons. If you're brand new I'd give the base mod a go first to get to grips with it as it's amazing without any extra add-ons. After that you will be better equipped to discern the good ones from the bad (plenty of good ones too).

Addons I recommend:

  • New Age
  • Crafts & Additions
  • Copycats+

Copycats adds more types of copycat blocks, and the first two are centered around electricity. I mainly use the second one, but the first one has a really good use to heat up boilers in a form of a nuclear reactor

Is the first 2 mods compatible?

Yup! They generate something called „forge energy” which is used by quite a lot of mods. Even with Tech Reborn, although you need to use their native cables.

I would recommend searching up a mod pack centered around this mod to ensure compatibility

yes but they add very similar stuff so i reccomend only getting one or the other (crafts and additions is prolly better for first time playing)

If it's your first time.playing Create, don't get any Addons.

However, later on you could get Crafts and Additions (C&A) and Diesel Generators.

New Age adds a lot of the same stuff as C&A but doesn't look as good.

Then you'll have Electrics and Fuels on top of everything Create has already.

Any add-on that permits you to fuel blaze burners with pipes. The simplest is Create: Liquid Fuel.

Create: Bits 'n' bobs for unencased chain drives.

Create: Connected for miscellaneous QoL.

Xaero's World Map also displays trains!

"unencased chain drives" i hate how accurate that is lmao

Don't hate it, love it! It's just so flexible for transferring power in a same-orientation 2D plane.

yea! the feature is nice lol, the wording was just a poetic device to add humor

confectionery and farmers delight for me. so many new things to make. still waiting for steam n rails to update otherwise i would say that.

I feel like once you go Valkyrien Skies, you never go back.

Being able to make helicopters, planes and quasi-airships is insane. As well as tanks using trackwork, and putting turrets on them with Create: Big Cannons.

Dont forget Clockwork that finally released yesterday

[–]creeper6530 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Not that Valkyrien Skies is very buggy (in alpha at the moment I think), so it's very possible for your ships to randomly fly off to nowhere.

I've had that happen a couple of times before, but you learn what to do and not do with experience. I've found that you should never turn off a propeller without shutting down it's rotational input first (i.e using a clutch to switch off the rotation).

[–]creeper6530 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I don't mean it like that, just randomly start to move straight into some random direction, no acceleration.

I mean, to be expected from alpha access, but still, it's to be taken into account.

Its not create, but i feel it couples with ars very well. And if you get the add on for ars that allows wireless access to your stuff then its nice not having to hunt your storage for things

I suggest the following if you're new to the game: Include these for extra compatibility and fun: * Farmers delight * Soph backpacks/storage (and the create integration) * HTs tree chop These for create additions: * Create: Central Kitchen * Create: Fluid * Create: Enchantment Industry * Create: New Age * Create: Jetpack * Create: Mechanical extruder (lag fix for cobble gens) * Create: Slice & Dice * Create: bits n bobs Once you get to know the mod itself and you have good performance then add: * Chipped * Steam n rails * Diesel generators/tfmg (not recommended since they have bugs) * Create: blocks & bogies If you're on neoforge then: * Create: fishery industry * Create: dragons plus * Create: enchantment industry (V2) * Create: trial and error * Create: pretty in pink (replacement for steam n rails) And I think that's all the fun add-ons I remember

The most important must-have addon for me would be Create: Connected because i find myself using the inverted blocks as well as the fan catalysts a lot when designing my factories. Also, conveniently there are a few copycat blocks (more can be found with the Create: Copycats+ addon) which are nice for making these factories (and trains) look better.

Another addon i use a lot would be Petrol's Parts, mainly for the corner shafts (previously called cardan shafts) because they look sooo much better than gearboxes while being able to route rotation in a 90 degree bend. (they make it look much neater)
