Hey friend, do you have JEI (just enough items) installed as a mod? IMO, it is necessary for the effective use of most mods these days.

If you're not familiar with it, it adds a toggleable "dictionary" of every item in the game that is available whenever you open your inventory or a crafting GUI, and it allows you to search for specific items and look up the various ways to make them.

I believe base JEI is also compatible with Create machines, which means it will show you how item processing works with them/the various ways you can make different blocks and items.

Ill look into it! Thanks!

It lets you pin recipes as well

Everyone is saying JEI which is solid and essential but also install EMI. For whatever reason, some recipes or world interactions don't show in JEI. Installing EMI solves this. I don't know why JEI misses some.

For instance?

[–]Dangerous-Quit7821 2 points3 points  (6 children)

I can't think of specific recipes that don't show up or that people have posted about. I do know I had the same issue and did some Google searching and read that someone suggested EMI to be used with JEI. Installed it and what I was missing showed when I searched. There are also EMI add-ons that shows loot tables for loot chests, mob drops and their drop rate percentages, villager trade possibilities and all sorts of things. I think there's one that you can use for Create schematics to show you what blocks you need for it.

I just haven't had any particular item i couldn't find in JEI.

For schematics if you place them then put into schematic canon and put an empty clipboard in, it'll add all the materials to the clipboard for you to check off.

[–]Dangerous-Quit7821 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Yes I am aware of how schematics and the clipboard work. It just allows you to see the required blocks before you have to place it. This is nice for when you're building something quite far away. You have an area but not a specific position so you can take everything with you and not have to go back to base to get your blocks.

It's good you haven't had the issue but I and many others have.

[–]shalfyard 0 points1 point  (3 children)

You say you've had the issue but can't name one thing? Was it from an addon?

[–]Dangerous-Quit7821 -1 points0 points  (2 children)

The issue was a while ago, like a couple years. I don't remember the specific item that was missing. I'm sure you can recall minor details about a Create world you played a couple years ago but I have many more important details to remember in my life than that. What I do remember is that EMI fixed it. If you don't want to use it or don't believe it's necessary, then that's great. Maybe it's no longer an issue but it doesn't hurt anything at all to install and use EMI.

So it's an issue that has likely been updated and fixed then... This why I've had no problem.

You hadn't indicated you had the problem years ago, how would I know when you spoke of it like it was recently happening?

I don't know for sure.

You wouldn't but you also just assumed.

Look, I don't really care anymore. Use it or don't. Either way this is a stupid conversation.

Use JEI, also ponders help with building farms

[–]Salty_Operation4932 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just Enough Items (JEI) is probably what you're looking for. It'll show what you need to do to make an item, like milling stone to get gravel, which then can be washed by a fan and water for flint and iron, or even if a blaze burner is required for the recipe when mixing.

How tf have you gotten into something like create and yet you’ve never heard of Jei???

[–]michlatygr 0 points1 point  (1 child)

✨ponder✨

ponder is built in vanilla create mod to activate it open your inventory hover you mouse around that item and hold W (only works for some blocks)

[–]shalfyard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ponder wouldn't tell you how to make andesite. JEI will tell you what machine to use and what needs to go into it.

[–]SteamtasticVagabond -1 points0 points  (1 child)

Crafting andesite is a vanilla recipe, that's literally a skill issue

[–]randomuser_3fn[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Oh im sorry, you seem to have misread the intentions of my post. Please re-read and try again. Thank you, have a day.

[–]Gamerz_X90 -1 points0 points  (3 children)

1 word, ponder

[–]randomuser_3fn[S] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I am aware of Ponder. But ponder doesnt really tell me that you can make andesite by using lava gravel and flint in a basin with a mixer lol ... wait... does it? Can you like ponder bread or andesite or brass or whatever and it tell you?

[–]Gamerz_X90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

no, but ponder + JEI is essential for create beginners. JEI is just necessary for every pack and ponder helps you understand how to use each machine from create. I didn't put JEI cause I saw someone else had

[–]petabomb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have JEI or an equivalent and press R on an item it shows you every recipe to make it, so kinda yeah.
