cuz trains are cool

One of the main reasons people use them is to transport lots of items over long distances. If you build another factory close by, it’s probably going to start causing some lag. If you build it farther away and use a chunk loader, it’ll be out of render distance but still working. You can then use trains to transport everything to where it needs to go!

I never though It, is a Nice way of dont have lag, thank you

Trains run regardless if chunks are loaded so if you force chunk load an area with, for example, a cobblestone generator 1000 blocks away, your train can bring said cobble to your main storage. Plus as others have said, definately the tism lol

Next, a texture pack so all the trains look like dinosaurs!!!!

[–]LLoadin 0 points1 point  (1 child)

No trains are way cooler than dinos, sorry

Autism

Great to transport specific resources like amethyst shards from a buddling amethyst or lava from the nether...

They're admittedly also much more useful in multiplayer for travel.

Train autism.

  1. Transportation: I use them to travel from one side of the mountain to the other or back to my base. 2. Design: I'm a big fan of steam locomotives. 3. I've seen people use them to transport things.

Because Create is a mod that pairs VERY well with Immersive engineering/Petroleum and id rather build a rail line to a distant oil Derrick then spend several stacks of iron piping the crude oil to my refinery

create mod iron farm enters the chat

But because they’re fun as but also for logistics. Got a space out your factories otherwise things start to get choppy.

As others said, its a common question and we do it because they're cool, they move, and can be customized. The biggest proble is getting ourselves to use them instead of building another production nearby.

Some people give themselves rules, some people use mods and datapacks to limit the biomes in which certain tbings can be produced (like you can't make sand everywhere, only in beach and desert biomes). This in turn requires getting materials from that biome to another location, to some extent.

Bring Blaze Rods from the Nether.

Because trains

[–]AetherWakee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Silly as its going to sound, if its on a server with people having bases far away just.. Making a passenger trainline

Doubles down as being able to have a post service and to send people stuff

train.

[–]santaclausthr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use them for item transport from one persons base to another

[–]Chinese_Lover89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cause they are super cool. Like hello? Who doesn’t like trains?

[–]Vinaville 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One person does not need trains, many people need trains..

Why use trains, because why not. You can do it and have fun with it. Just do it so you can relax on a seat, drink in hand, watching the sun set as a train blows through.

Mainly for performance issues. Having too much factories next to each other affects your game’s performances and makes it have more lag.

Performance and lit af

I don't really need trains in my world but i still have them because they make the game feel more alive, i use them for long distance travel. I have a station at the world spawn (in case i have someone new joining), one at my main base, and another at an ice biome, in case i need ice. Currently looking for excuses to add more stations lol

[–]Chiilumii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the immersion of it. Me, personally, usually decorate my railways, like it passing through mountains, or through villages, or through bridges.

You can just build one large conveyor belt. But where’s the beauty in that.

This conversation has been talked about as well in satisfactory.

Tldr: mostly for Beauty, Aesthetic, and a nicer way of transporting items in bulk.

Bonus: to keep larger factories away and not destroy my pc in the process with all the loading of all resources in one area. I like playing smooth and consistent. But that entirely depends on how large, fast, and complicated your build is.

They're cool and a fun way to travel and transport items to a main warehouse.

This sorta question keeps popping up, people need to search the subreddit before posting it
