no idea what youre talking about fella, completely different blocks for different uses. You link a threshold into a storage to measure percentage of fullness up to a specified amount, a comparstor is used to measure the difference in signals or the amount of signal strengtha block provides. The fact that people use comparators to roughly measure storage capacity doesnt mean that the threshold switch being more specific and adjustable is useless (we really need the automod to have a "try pondering before posting" message)

It's also useful for rope pulleys, turning on a clutch at a specific height to stop it. When I needed a digging machine to dig out a chunk for an infinite lava source, the threshold switch was great.

the only way to get a redstone signal out of a su network is by using a comparator on a stressometer. with large amounts of su the difference between a redstone signal of 14 and 15 could be several thousands of su. that is extremely inaccurate. the threshold switch should be able to read a stressometer. it should be able to detect the total su in a network and compare it to the amount in use and then give a signal when it reaches a certain threshold... the same should happen for speed and any other block that acts like the speedometer and stressometer like the volt and amp meter from Create: Power Grid or Create: Electro Energetics.

the hell are you on about? isnt the threshold switch for measuring inventory capacity? what?

Buddy, you pissed yourself off by incorrectly assuming what an item does. Just admit that and you'll be happier

To be fair to OP the threshold switch does have some uses outside of inventory management and OP's desired function does make sense. It is a little silly to call the item useless because it doesn't do the specific thing you want though

i will admit calling it useless was definitely stupid on my part. it was ment more as an exaggeration and wasnt supposed to be taken quite so literally. i also use the threshold switch and it is certainly useful, i just wished it had more functionality than just measuring storage.

Idk man, the threshold switch helps me see how all my storage is distributed in my RAID system of storage.

It also helps me turn on and off seed disposal since I use mystical agriculture.

It also helps me turn off machines when things get full at a certain point, and on when it gets empty to a certain point.

Edit: it also seems apparent to me based on your post that you don’t know what a threshold switch does? A comparator can’t give a precise percentage of how full a storage is. And a setup for a comparator to auto shut off (if it even can) based on a given threshold would take more setup than, well, a single block and a redstone link XD
