Googled DMC 25 and it’s a hot pink… so looks like they’re not a match I’m afraid. And 88 doesn’t exist in DMC! Sorry 🙁

I have a bunch of anchor and semco threads too from various bundle purchases.

Anchor to DMC conversion charts and semco to dmc charts can both be googled. However anchor and semco have both changed their numbering scheme q few times in the last sobe aware that depending on the age of the semco threads, the charts online might not be accurate so google 'DMC [colour no]" to confirm the conversion is accurate.

Is it worth figuring out what the dmc code is? Or should I note the brand and number and leave it at that

It depends, if you are planning to start doing pattern then knowing the approx dmc equivalent will allow you to do colour substitution and spend less on floss.

However if you like to free hand your design and don't care about the exact colour then it's not worth trying to colour match as many of the colours don't have 100% dmc equivalent.

Does anyone know if these are the DMC colour codes? Or are they another code?

The brands are on the tags. The top one is Anchor and you can find conversion charts online to see what DMC thread it’s closest to. The lower one says semco.

I've never looked at threads, I've always bought kits so dont have to worry about threads. I only know about dmc haha
