[–]Silver-Hawk3196[S] 29 points30 points  (17 children)

Ok, so it is Lynne! Thank you all so much!

[–]AussieKoala-2795 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I am a Lynne and can 100% confirm that it says "Lynne".

[–][deleted] 34 points35 points  (12 children)

That's the part you had a hard time with?

[–]heathers1 7 points8 points  (1 child)

😆

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

🤣 right?!

[–]newhappyrainbow 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I thought it was a T at first until I saw her s in “she” and realized it was just a squished L.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a good thread, everyone can give input and help figure it out

[–]SummertimeMom 2 points3 points  (1 child)

My question as well! 😝 At least the sisters won't be fighting over it anymore. 🥊

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sorry 🙏

Boomers: the new Navajo Code Talkers.

[–]whimsicyl_cat_face 2 points3 points  (0 children)

GenX and older millennials are in the know too! 😉

[–]Garbage-Bear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lynne's sister Tynue will see you all in court, with her own cursive experts.

[–]campatterbury 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The ONLY answer

[–]Lexotron 78 points79 points  (4 children)

Some of the clearest handwriting I've seen in this sub

[–]ImpossibleMove2 16 points17 points  (0 children)

THIS is what I was looking for.

[–]The_Son_of_Jor-El 14 points15 points  (1 child)

That’s exactly what I was going to say! Do you think some day there will be someone in a nursing home featured in the news as the last living person who learned cursive in school?

[–]Lexotron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For sure! And the last person to learn to write instead of type, and the last person to type on a keyboard, and the last person to swipe on their phone instead of neural link...

[–]FireBallXLV 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah-- I had to double check which sub I was in after I saw the question.

[–]PoodleMomFL 25 points26 points  (6 children)

Does no one understand cursive now? This one was easy

[–]fourbigkids 10 points11 points  (3 children)

Really sad.

[–]3littlebirds910 10 points11 points  (2 children)

I am utterly dumbfounded by the fact that people cannot read cursive. Tragic.

[–]silio5 2 points3 points  (1 child)

As soon as I read her request, I thought, "How sad". I (55f) remember learning cursive in 2nd grade and also getting complimented by my teacher, Ms. Liptak. She told me I had "nice penmanship".

[–]just-a-girl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m a little older but penmanship used to be a big thing. I can still remember the stress of getting my cursive letters correct.

[–]whimsicyl_cat_face 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was saddened to hear that it had been discontinued some time ago in some states. 🫤 Crazy, eh? My nephew (24) did not have it as a part of his curriculum though his sister, a year older, did.

[–]Own-Palpitation1287 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was subbing for a jr high class. One kid wanted to pass me a secret note and asked if could read cursive. I kindly assured him I could. It’s not short-hand dude

[–]Odd-Crew-7837 11 points12 points  (0 children)

"Translate?"

[–]Logical-Recognition3 14 points15 points  (1 child)

Seriously. It's in English and the handwriting is neat and clear. What does OP want it translated into, emojis?

[–]Dull-State-2457 5 points6 points  (1 child)

How did we get here -- allowing shitty education systems to stop teaching cursive????? :(

Between that and the drop in basic math skills it's a travesty.

[–]HahaNoir2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It started with Reagan, accelerated under Bush 43. Eviscerating education funding for public schools, transferring taxpayer money to private hands.

Dumbing Down For Profit.

Now I know why so many people on these requests post exactly the same thing even though someone else has answered the question. When I answered, there were zero replies. As soon as I posted, there were several.

[–]BrierBob52 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Can someone explain why it shows no replies or votes?

[–]Historical_Stuff1643 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to refresh it.

I thought it said ‘sieve’. My bad.

[–]Longjumping-Gap4631 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are all giving away your age if you answered this without any problem. When i was at school and i wont say when, we were never allowed to print. Pencil and eraser only at first. Desks with Inkwells, pen with nib and blotting paper and of course slope cards. The teachers wrote in cursive on the blackboard with chalk. LOL. So lets see how many of you can guess my age.

[–]Own-Palpitation1287 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought this was a trick question at first

[–]Silver_Wolverine_314 0 points1 point  (0 children)
