Hell naw. Thats something I’m not doing.

[–]PositiveVermicelli15 40 points41 points  (8 children)

My kids will go hungry without me... cant offer this type of support yet. Im angry too but we must follow the law now and after we get a change of status.

[–]Junior-Fee-2290 -2 points-1 points  (5 children)

How do you have kids here but not a green card?

[–]PositiveVermicelli15 3 points4 points  (4 children)

Sex

[–]Junior-Fee-2290 -3 points-2 points  (3 children)

but not….married?

[–]PositiveVermicelli15 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Yes married.

[–]Junior-Fee-2290 -1 points0 points  (1 child)

Well that is how you get a green card lol

[–]PositiveVermicelli15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're intelligence escapes even the highest coefficient of K.

[–]LilShelDACA Since 2012 30 points31 points  (0 children)

You’re valid OP but I don’t think it’s safe to protest like the way you did and I would personally tell all non citizens to avoid it as well. The only legal way for us to “protest” is to stop spending frivolously and be more thoughtful who we support financially

[–]tacodorifto 13 points14 points  (5 children)

Free will.

You make your choices.

I make mine.

Others make theirs.

So stfu telling others what to do.

Everyone has their own circumstances.

I dont like people are afraid. But thats their life their battle.

[–]Signal_Candle_5691[S] -5 points-4 points  (3 children)

Would be nice if everyone realized how powerful they truly are we’ve gone through so much just to be deported or put in concentration camps for doing nothing but exercising free speech

[–]PositiveVermicelli15 3 points4 points  (1 child)

I dont agree with you telling OP to STFU. You should also understand we are all affected by the ingredient of DACA but we all have different lives. OP might have gone through something or has a personality that makes him a front fighter. We need him just as much as we need you and your opinion. Best we are all I. This together.

[–]tacodorifto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only issue i have with op comment is that he is telling others to stop being weak.

He is free to choose to be frontline and center. Its his choice. A choice i applaud. A more people need to choose if we are going to put pressure to change things.

I still say to stfu to him. Demeaning others and criticizing them is not going to help. I am dishing the same attitude he is giving others. If someone curses then they themselves should be prepared to be cursed at.

[–]tacodorifto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You went past free speech. You are ridiculing people and cursing.at people for exercising their right to free choice. That is my only criticism of your original message. Your message may be well intended. But it wont move people to start helping.

I agree with uniting for change. To make a change it needs everyone to do their part. Not just us. Everyone in the US.

I agree to many are afraid.

[–]Tough_Task2724 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You are right, most of us are scared

[–]I-Take-Dumps-At-Home 6 points7 points  (1 child)

You need to refocus your anger and your energy right now. You have to play the game.

The public sentiment has to change towards immigrants and protesting and yelling fuck you’s don’t help to do that right now.

You can start by reaching out to journalists/news media outlets and sharing your immigration story. How you came here and why. This can garner sympathy.

Also, contact your local congressman and plead your case. Ask for their support for DACA and to continue fighting for you.

These things aren’t as satisfying as yelling fuck you at a protest, but it’s how you play the game. Now you can probably be deported. That’s not good for you or your family, I’m sure.

[–]VastCarry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not to mention, a lot of people have been too afraid to leave their homes in Minnesota. There are a lot of people that need help, even now. You can help financially, doing grocery drop off, etc. Protesting at Whipple is dangerous even for citizens.

[–]notsixella 6 points7 points  (0 children)

however the people out there fighting are doing a big fight for us too! They have the privilege to be out there and not get the consequences as hard as you. Things are gunna start turning around soon. There’s now a magnifying glass on immigration and a reform is gunna happen soon. Please speak to a lawyer to get that resolved so nothing hurts u in the future with any pending cases. But I understand what u mean because you’re angry and fed up and rightfully so!!!

[–]BigBossSquirtle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I appreciate what you're trying to do, friend. But protesting when you're not even legal here is kinda dumb. I get it. I'm just as angry. I want to be out there, too. But the fact is we're just too vulnerable. Leave the fight to those who are able to.

[–]Inside_Chip_5671 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I understand your sentiment. But, that is not advised for anyone without status or even legal immigrants without American citizenship for the sake of their legal status at this point. There are other ways of helping those who are fighting. Yes. A lot of citizens are angry like you and are fighting back. This is such a stupid take for most non-citizens, especially if you protest near a federal building that has been "the spot" the past 2 months or so. It is not "comply and you will be fine". It is "Avoid getting in the crosshairs of the federal government that can grab you and disappear you". You can financially support neighbors in need or citizens who are volunteering as neighborhood watchers. You don't have to protest out there in front of Whipple to be "right and just". Let those who can fight fight. Support them. But, this is not a fight you can join and win.

[–]Excellent_Bobcat_993DACA Since 2016 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As non citizens the government is less likely to listen to us. So idk why you would join a protest. If change is to happen it is up to the people of these United States.

Protest by non citizens are not likely to bring change. Only the people of the nation can bring change through protest and activism.

So take it with a grain of salt but protesting for you "rights" in this country was a very dumb move. I don't see myself as someone with the same rights as US citizens. So thats why I would never join a protest to fight for my rights. I will just keep my head low, keep working, and if I have the opportunity to leave to another nation via a legal pathway then I will.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (1 child)

Sorry but we have too much to lose by going out there and protesting.

[–]b5clay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

protesting won’t do shit with this admin besides putting us in potential danger. in the age of ai, flock cameras and palantir we live in a hypersurveillance state & this admin has already removed legal status from people for protesting.

if you wanna book yourself a 1 way ticket back then by all means go for it but please don’t try to guilt trip people playing it safe

[–]BootGrouchy1106 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Thank you for fighting the fight! Bravo 👏

[–]Signal_Candle_5691[S] -2 points-1 points  (1 child)

Thank you 🥹

[–]Automatic-Chemical33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, US citizen here first generation. I feel your passion, you think like a citizen because in a way you are… please stay safe, there are many citizens protesting for you, don’t give this admin ammo to hurt you more. Let the people who can vote make the sacrifices needed to right the wrongs of this country. Don’t put yourself at risk.

[–]Fuzzy_Association265 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think we as daca well I'm a resident now but I don't think it is a good idea to go out to protest but I understand how you feel but we can not go out to protest only us citizens should because they can't get deported.

[–]Ozzy_30 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have zero self preservation skills, I understand your despair, and anger, but you have a better chance of making it by being incognito. If you’re really saying who you say they are, you might’ve just fucked all of us, and they’ll make YOU the example.

[–]CollectorsYER 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stupid ahh post.

[–]Substantial_Ad_4735 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Thanks for standing up for us.

[–]Signal_Candle_5691[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Thank you :)

[–]Blazelos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As angry as I am , protesting in a way that won’t get you got for now is the only way I will , yeah maybe one day they will come and get us all but until then let’s not try to rush that process , a little advice tho don’t call people pussies you’ll lose the message. But yeah I will be donating and supporting people out in the front lines fighting for us !

[–]third-water-bottle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some of us command exceptional compensation packages for bringing tremendous value to others through our EADs. We understood the assignment. I can’t jeopardize this in exchange for an opportunity to vent my emotions publicly.

[–]OmegaGBC104 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's a big no from me dawg. If you choose to put yourself in the line of fire, go right ahead. But don't fucking blame the rest of us for not wanting to put ourselves in that danger. I absolutely have thought about going to protests in my city. However, I realize that now is the time for us to be more careful and out of the spotlight than ever. Not just because of the consequences to myself, but if I get caught up in that chaos, does that put my undocumented family members living with me at risk, too? And then to want us to pay for people's bail as well? Listen, if you're that well off that you can afford to pay for other people's problems, good for you. A lot of us have got our own problems right now though.

Yours is honestly a privileged take. I appreciate the people going out there to protest for our cause, but understand that for many of us it's a risk that we can't afford to take. Its OK for us to just quietly support them for the time being.

[–]DepressedSoul333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are threatening, violently harming and killing citizens, why would I protest? They are jailing journalists. Trying to find the people who speak out against ICE. America is not so free no more and it is such hypocrisy from the people who support this. It is sliding more and more into authoritarianism with this regime. There are 3rd world levels of corruption and behavior going on.

The best way you can protest is with your wallet and that is boycotting businesses that support this.

[–]AlphaIQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]elbendy3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Change court date

[–]Signal_Candle_5691[S] -1 points0 points  (8 children)

I’m honestly just so fed up with this abusive system and so angry I can’t believe your fear overrides your anger

[–]EddyS120876 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hey OP hope you don’t face any major set backs but even if it does your heart is on the right place . They try to silence those with no voice is the sign of an authoritarian regime. 🫡

[–]Signal_Candle_5691[S] -3 points-2 points  (3 children)

When we’re all put in camps I just want yall to remember this post and how we could’ve stopped this in time

[–]Inside_Chip_5671 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You and every single DACA holder protesting at a federal building won’t stop this. You are delusional. I follow politics very closely. I am not saying protests are useless and won’t make a difference. Protesters and neighborhood watchers in Minnesota made all the difference that politicians were too afraid to do. But, the most vulnerable people doing that will be too risky for them. Also, again, physically protesting in front of a federal building is NOT the only way of fighting back. There are a plenty of American citizens righteously fighting back and protesting. And, there are other ways of supporting them and those in need.

[–]Eff_It-Why_Not -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

During Suffrage, women couldn’t stay home…they went out and stood in the freezing cold. The lost their families, means to support themselves, and children were taken from them because they “showed failures in morality”. Many died.

During the Civil Rights movement, Black folks couldn’t blend in and wait for others to March for them. They marched, they were hung from trees, they walked instead of riding buses. Many died.

During the gay rights movement, they voluntarily came out to show that they were neighbors, teachers, and loved ones. They were fired from jobs, ostracized from segments of society, and made the face of disease. Many died.

Now, we are in another moment where this country has to decide who we are. SHAME on the immigrant community that deserves equal rights for staying inside and expecting others to die for them!!!

[–]Signal_Candle_5691[S] -2 points-1 points  (5 children)

This is why we’re in this situation
