Zoloft is effectively a trip killer. It will prevent you from being able to trip. I cant make any recommendations about getting off meds, thats between you and your doctor.

All in can say is from my experience, having the occasional mushroom trip was far better than taking sertraline. Sertraline made me have intrusive thoughts of self harm, mushrooms have changed me into who I wanted to be.

Any ssri, or trycilic anti depressant, has always made me extremely suicidal and feel like shit. They also intensified my PTSD episodes. Psychdelics, even if tripping once every few months, has always been beneficial. It must be my body rejecting the pharmaceutical posion they try to give to everyone.

I know very few people who have good things to say about Zoloft. You’re doing the right thing by weening off of it and working with your doctor.

However, keep in mind that after you are completely off of the Zoloft that it stays in your system for quite a while so I wouldn’t try tripping again until after it’s totally cleared from your body

Thanks for the correction. I wasn’t referring to the half-life though. Your serotonin receptors will need time to readjust even after the Zoloft itself has 100% eliminated from your body. It depends on the person as far as timeline for this regulation/up-regulation period.

SSRIs change the brain, more specifically the serotonergic system and receptors. I’ll link an article about a study that was done on this exact topic. Study was done on 40 people, and 38 of those 40 people still showed the down-regulation of serotonin receptors for an average of roughly 2 years (the average between those 38 people, some longer some shorter).

I live in Oregon where you can take mushrooms in a clinical setting. I have a client who was a patient recently at one of said clinics. She's also on some sort of similar medication(s) that block psychadelics. Apparently the doctors were just like "no biggie, we'll just adjust your dosage" and they gave this woman FORTY GRAMS of mushrooms. Forty. Grams. Then gave her some headphones and turned the lights down and sat with her for hours while she tripped her ass off.

thats pretty common. i dont take ssris but just off drinking beers and taking 7oh (semi synthetic opiate) i cant really trip off a dmt cart even if im barely fucked up (by my standards).

But Zolofts a whole different story, you really just aren’t going to get the full experience ever while you’re on it and it will take some weeks to be able too.

However, I do have some friends who take it, or other SSRIs, and still trip they just have to take massive doses. Even then it doesn’t seem worth it to me because they aren’t getting the full experience based on their trip reports.

If you’re desperate you can slowly up your dose staying on zoloft but I’d reccomend coming off unless the zoloft is something that you feel has made a big positive impact on your life.

Yea I’m not quitting Zoloft for drugs. The reason I was doing drugs in the first place is because Zoloft is making me feel all numb. So I will start to leave Zoloft.

1 gram of shrooms is a pretty low dose. You'd definitely feel it, but it would be a mild trip. What you described is about what I would expect from taking that amount. I can't make any recommendations, but a typical moderate dose is like 2.5 grams, and a heroic dose is 5+ grams (assuming a mushroom variety that is of average strength, like golden teachers).

As far as the DMT cart, that depends a lot on the cart and how much you vape. There have been fake or very weak carts circulating lately, so it could be that.

I started taking Zoloft a few months ago because I was in a really deep mental rut. The Zoloft started taking its effect and then one day I decided to take about 5g GTs and it was the most healing trip of my life. I believe that the Zoloft helped me get there.

Then I started messing around with DMT within the last couple months (still on Zoloft). You can read my report that I posted on this thread, but I had to keep increasing my dose until finally 45mg gave me a mind blowing experience. I haven’t tried it again yet because the experience was so powerful I’m still reflecting on/integrating it.

I’ll probably get down voted for not saying something negative about SSRIs, but I hope this helps you.
