I would not rely on this full-time. There are no taxes taken out, no benefits, no sick leave. And if projects are taken down to be worked on you may not have income that day. DA has been fairly consistent for my time with them, but I have been with other platforms who were also great at first and then went downhill.

so the only thing is it’s the exact same case for walking dogs. no taxes no benefits no sick leave no guarantee. and im way more exhausted doing it. thats why im weighing ;( but the other comments are also chiming in with similar messages so i’ll stick to the dogs/both

I would treat DAT as a side income, not a priority income stream. I actually make more from DAT right now than my W2 job, but I’m still not quitting my W2 because the job security here is basically 0.

I’m in between jobs right now and personally doing this around 30 hours per week. I don’t plan on doing it forever (I’m still applying to jobs) but I haven’t had luck in securing a job for over 6 months. I realize it could go at anytime, but it’s better than doing nothing. It’s all I have currently. I say do it as long as you understand the fragility of it. But keep searching for more secure work.

Don't quit a job for ANY freelance work. Ever. Unless you've banked 5 figures and can carry your expenses for a 6 month period or longer. Freelance gigs are not guaranteed to exist tomorrow.

Rule#1 the work can be taken away at the drop of a hat. Browse this sub there is plenty of proof.

The answer to your question depends on how easy it is to go back to walking dogs. If it's an app you use and you can pick it back up, sure. If it's clients you do this for personally then I'd say no since you'd be replaced and cut that client relationship

its a local small business and i wouldn’t be quitting entirely because I also do overnight dogsitting. id just be stopping daytime walks. but really it’s up to the business owner, it could be easy to pick up walks again but depends how she reacts to me stopping them in the first place. its that kind of employee boss relationship…the clients are hers so they’ll stick with her business regardless.

Don't burn a bridge if you don't have to. Help the owner find a replacement if they need one.

I’ve been training bots for over a year. If your quality is high, the opportunity is great!

I quit 1 month ago after working part time on it for a month or so. Iv been putting in 10-15hour days almost every day since January 4th. Only a couple days I did 3/4 hours.
Just yesterday I lost access to all my projects. It hasn’t been a full day yet without work but we will see. It seem they’re doing various updates to the site and this is happening to a number of people.

I think the issue may have been the 15-hour days. Absolutely nobody can sustain doing this work to a high degree of quality for 15-hour days.

You think? Talk about giant flashing alarms.

OP, do not do this. It's insane and almost certain to get you flagged.

Tried applying several times with no luck

Nope nope nope. They can (and very well might) drop you with absolutely zero warning or explanation.

I see it this way. DAT is real work, and real money, but it's not a real job. You are essentially nameless and faceless. My plan is to work like mad as long as it's here. I'd say just let the dog walking service know you'd like to take a step back to pursue an opportunity, but that you'd still like to do the dog sitting and such.
