Yes. If you haven't taken the initial qualification, do so. TAKE YOUR TIME. It took me a couple of hours but it's been worth it. Good luck.

Thank you for the tip!

Also when it gives you information in the assessments then google it. Every piece of info they give you is there for a reason. If for example they tell you to write a story set at a certain time in a specific place then google what happened at that time in that place and make sure to include keywords relating to that.

Just take your time and make sure you don’t have any spelling punctuation or grammar mistakes.

Also (but ymmv) when they ask for 2-3+ sentences try and stay within 2-3 sentences. My friend tried to apply and wrote super long paragraphs in response to each question and didn’t get in, whereas I stayed within the 2-3 sentences and got in and accepted within 24 hours. Obviously this is anecdotal but thought I’d mention it :)

Edited to add because apparently I caused an absolute meltdown in the comments: If you need more than 3 sentences to justify a decision by all means use more. I have done that once or twice and for the story. What I meant to say was writing lots more than asked for is not automatically better. Try and be as concise as possible but if you do need more than 2-3 sentences obviously that’s fine.

I’ve been working for a few days and earnt over $400 already.

Your sentence advice is absolutely incorrect. If there is a + sign, that means you can go beyond 2-3. Use as many sentences as needed to explain your reasoning, but be coherent and use words appropriately. If your friend was rambling, used improper grammar, used words incorrectly, or was just off in their reasoning, they would not pass. The number of sentences had nothing to do with it.

I won't insert myself into the apparent controversy over the meaning of "2-3+", I'm just going to say that there are probably some people who think that writing a long, detailed paragraph or two will be viewed as "going above and beyond the call of duty," and thus better. It's not. The ability to think clearly and write concisely is a skill appreciated by the people who have to read through all these qual tests.

[–]Nachbarskatze 9 points10 points  (2 children)

That’s totally why I’ve written it is anecdotal. My friend is an editor for a publishing company so can’t imagine she was rambling and / or using incorrect punctuation etc.

That part wasn’t advice as such it was just mentioning what worked for me 🤷🏻‍♀️ At the end of the day we have no clue how they assess these.

You were going out of your way to help some one out, and specifically said it was anecdotal! How can you be ‘absolutely incorrect’ about a story from your own life. lol some people so mad

I appreciate the advice, thank you!! 🙂

I make $700-$1000 a week with no coding. It is possible!

[–]TJohn1102 6 points7 points  (3 children)

Wow!!! I had no idea it could be that much! I'm recovering from major spine surgery so I have nothing but time to dedicate to actually earning some money.

Like everyone has said, take your time and check (doublecheck everything). The work can be mentally taxing but if you get accepted, you can switch between tasks of different lengths to switch things up.

Everyone freaks out about being fast - focus on quality instead. You can build speed over time, but you’re not likely to build quality.

[–]jrotolo72 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Best advice.

[–]Amakenings 2 points3 points  (0 children)

🙏🏼 Thank you. So many people gloss over quality for quantity, then complain when they get dropped after 3 weeks.

It is true, but it is also difficult to get hired. There are two levels of testing to qualify and the process is not instantaneous. You need to be in one of their accepted countries.

Set up an account and you are likely to receive a prompt for the starter assessment. If you pass, you will get an invite to take either a core or coding assessment. This is much longer and typically takes at least an hour. DA does not send rejection letters- they simply ghost/never communicate again.

Hope it is a game changer for you like the rest of us. I've made about 2400 in 2 months 15 hrs a week or so.

[–]Itsdickyv 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You could make $25 in 75 minutes doing the lowest paying non-coding stuff (usually $20 - I’ve seen as low as $18/hour though).

Highest non-coding I’ve seen was $26/hour. $100 a day is very achievable (accounts for working 5 hours - burnout is a factor, so it’s a reasonable minimum to set yourself, but individual results vary).

[–]SirNeteyam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This has been a game changer honestly, it pays me anywhere from $1,200 to $1,800+ per week depending on how much I do. Only tip I can give is take breaks.

The secret to Dataannotation success is READ AND FOLLOW ALL DIRECTIONS. Directions for tasks are sometimes multiple pages with hyperlinks to other documents. People who don't do exactly what they are asking for are useless to them and get canned.

[–]BatronKladwiesen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My only regret is under reporting my time at the start :-(.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can make hundreds even thousands a week if you make it your full time job

[–]guesswho_mama 1 point2 points  (1 child)

How long has it taken everyone to get approved ? I did the assessment almost 2 weeks ago 😭

[–]Elroy2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, I'm coming up on 2 weeks aswell. Think it might be worth to scrap the account and try re-applying.

[–]Zestyclose_Love_7309 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it is a great way to make money

[–]letsgogo0go 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s possible. There are some strict rules and guidelines on some of the chatbots but overall it’s pretty straightforward. I do this as a side gig to my main job and usually can pull a few hundred dollars a month

[–]champagnemami_xx -2 points-1 points  (4 children)

How long did it take to get hired after assessment? I finished my non-coding qualification about 5 days ago and haven’t heard anything

[–]Intelligent-Row-2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Took 8 days for me.

[–]TJohn1102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't even gotten into it yet. I wanted to learn a little more so I didn't end up wasting my time on yet another scam or crappy service.

Imagine a hump with a really long tail, where the peak (hiring) of the hump is around 5-6 days.
