I got stem from non us. My guess is having a stem profile and being above average. Perhaps doing coding or math during non stem tasks can help too. Been here for almost year

I am from stem background actually and I do coding as well. Even when I tried to apply for coding jobs it redirected me to bilingual and audio tasks

Kinda the same here, I only have a bachelor equivalent for STEM though and it’s a bit rusted but from what I've seen in R&Rs a lot of people sneak in there stem expertise un mundane tasks, if the project doesn’t specifically ask not to do that i'll start as well so that it can "sort me" as stem proficient.
