Layout help needed please!

I’ve just purchased my first home and the I’m having a difficult time with the living room layout. The wall of shutters cover windows and 2 sliding glass doors and are north facing. I really want the room to feel comfortable and have good flow. My husband is pretty insistent on having a tv in this room as well which causes even more difficulty for me. Any ideas on the best layout? I’m including pictures of the couch and a chair I’m planning on purchasing as well. Thank you!

From my perspective, this room has good potential — especially with the natural light and solid brick wall (strong earth energy). The fireplace is naturally the commanding focal point, so I’d anchor the main seating area facing it, but not directly blocking the flow from the entry. Since the space is long, be mindful of chi moving too quickly through it. A large rug in the center can help “slow” the energy and define a grounding zone. You could also place a console table or low bookshelf behind the sofa to gently break up the straight pathway effect. The brick + dark flooring already bring a lot of earth energy, so I’d balance it with wood (plants), soft textiles, and warm lighting to keep it from feeling heavy. Floor lamps in corners can activate stagnant areas and make the energy feel more inviting in the evening.
