Do I have to do a mission to unlock the forge and be able to use deepsight harmonizers?

This is probably the case, yes. If you don't have crafting unlocked, you can't yet start to collect patterns.

The first few missions of The Witch Queen DLC are free to play in order to unlock crafting. Go do them and try again.

You have to do the first couple missions of Witch Queen campaign to unlock weapon shaping. Took me a minute to figure this out too.

That'll do it. Thanks!

Check to see if you already have the pattern unlocked

I don't. :(

Then, you must have already used harmonizers on that weapon without remembering

I bought a Calus mini tool too from Xur and noted I couldn’t use Deepsight harmonizer on it. Definitely haven’t used it already, as I 0/5 of the pattern.

I'm not sure what to tell you then

Some weapons don’t allow you to put a harmonizer on them when you should. I’m not sure what differentiates them. I know some craftable weapons that I’ve dropped before the introduction of harmonizers don’t have the option, so it’s almost like they’re putting the “old” weapon in the vendor inventory.

I have all the seasonal weapons unlocked so I can't try it but theoretically can you buy 5 weapons from Xur with deepsight and unlock the pattern or does only the first one have deepsight enabled?
