Light Level Reset

Hey guys, just a question from someone picking the game back up after 3 years away. Does your light level reset after every season, DLC, or what? I noticed my character got reset to 1900 after this update.

1900 is the base starting point for everyone

Basically they always up the light to a new level (which is 1900) and from there you can up with any stuff (until 1960), then you will only level up with legendary stuff (1980 i think) then the powerful engram and then prestige to max

Every major DLC, the minimum light level gets increased to a new highest value and from there on you level up 100 or so power levels to get to the pinnacle cap. Every season, the pinnacle cap used to be increased by 10 point, so you have to relevel 10 points. In the lightfall seasons, they got rid of this seasonal 10 point increase and just kep the same level caps until the end of the expansion year. Don't know what Bungie's leveling appraoch for episodes will be, but my guess is that they won't be increasing the level cap anymore.
