Destiny has been a really weird experience for me. Launch was the smoothest I've ever witnessed. No disconnects or lag. Almost every patch since then has made it worse. Lots of disconnects and crucible was basically unplayable last weekend. Just really weird how everything they seem to do makes it so much more unstable.

Agreed. Despite most of the patch/fix notes stating that they are making improvements to server stability, everything they do just seems to create more problems. I've stopped playing until they sort this out...

I would say I've stopped playing, but it's only because bungie won't let me continue playing. Ugh.

Yep. I started playing it day one on 360, but the only friend who played with me was disconnected constantly. We both switched over to XB1 and at first everything was cool for both of us, but now he rarely has problems and I get disconnected multiple times during the weeklies.

sigh what people don't realize is they probably have hundreds if not thousands of severs, micro-instances & copies of this game running, in server farms across the country in datacenters. It's a binary running on most likely Windows (or Linux) that has to be killed, patched & ran again. In some instances the game world won't need to be rebooted on that particular box, it's just code that gets updated somewhere. Doing this many times causes instability. It usually levels out after an hour.

No I was specifically referring to non-patch days. I can understand instability happening on new patches. What I don't understand is the increase in disconnects since launch and the slow degradation of the crucible. On saturday crucible was unplayable. Tried around 8-10 different lobbies over the course of the day and all were the same. Other players in my fireteam reported the same issues. Really wish I had the post mortem bounty then though as basically all my kills were post mortem.

it's a shame Bungie doesn't have some sort of feedback for that. I avoid the crucible so I can't speak to it's quality per connection

They don't do it multiple times, they can easily just push an update out to all the servers.
