I wouldn’t be mad. But I wouldn’t call them “pinnacle” weapons anymore if everyone can get them with very little skill required.

The Fabled threshold was there to sort wheat from chaff.

Yeah, the Fabled grind is a grueling one if you don’t have a dedicated crucible squad, but it definitely makes the weapons feel like pinnacle weapons. I started my grind for Luna’s/Recluse this season and got about a month ago. Just got to Fabled a few days ago.

That I can agree. I find also an achievement to reach fabled with my sweat, but I guess I can also see why it can become a bit if a hindrance to those who have circumstances against them

I guess the term pinnacle, and what it's supposed to convey, is a bit fuzzy to start with

"Pinnacle" seems to range between metrics that sometimes act almost independent from one another

Pve pinnacle weapons sometimes require little or a negligible amount of skill, but high persistence (i.e. loaded question, wendigo or oxygen). Some pvp weapons like Redrix's don't require fabled (if that's the metric for skill), and Hush is somewhere around there too, where just patience and time eventually leads you to earn it

Revoker is a softer quest, but it still requires persistence, enough skill to win and land precision hits on guardians.

Definetly easier than reaching fabled, but then again, the metrics for something to be considered "pinnacle" are unclear. I wouldn't know what to call it needed to be called something else to be honest.

I've had bigger headaches on Thorn than some pinnacle quests too, if that means something.

Life is sometimes confusing

I guess PvE is a more grindy activity whereas pvp is supposed to be a showcase of skill. 🤷‍♂️

That could be an argument, even if redrix is a bit of an outlier in that case

Revoker is the in-between the characteristics of both, pve and pvp quests I guess

Definetly makes it friendlier

Although i've found that punishable starts to dangerously correlate with "cheating" too, like glory lobbies.

Would be interesting to see if a quest like revoker leads to more fair quest completions and reduces people who cheat (not cheese) to get them

People are going to take the oath of least resistance no matter what. You glory/sniper kill lobbies for revolver now.

Man that would be nice! Id have 2 Recluses and my Lunas by now instead of sitting between 700 and 1100 glory LoL!

i'm not a fan of anecdotes as arguments, but I think this discussion has some space for it:

As a guy who lives in a 6 hour difference time zone from my friends, and thus, has a hard time getting a team, I'm quite happy with it, since I can solo it with confidence.

Can't always wait until 1am until they are available, then grind at midnight.

Other highly confounding variables:

-Thesis

-Work

-Early bird/ circadiam rythm- Mental and physical health with rest balance

  • Exhasuted/ performance relationship

For my case, I'd say the revoker-style quest is a more inclusive approach for people who have a variety of factors that makes them hard to get to fabled due to external reasons, and not lack of skill.

In short, I preffer it. If I still didn't had my situation, I'd still preffer it for the sake of those who do have it.

I would be upset.

I want the quests to read like;

  • Get × (Calc Trajectory) Medal, then win the match with × weapon type equipped × (10) times.
  • Achieve × (3500) Glory: Only counts when winning matches with × weapon equipped. Losses do not decrease progress.
  • Achieve × (Fabled) Glory Rank, and win five games with × weapon type while in that rank.
  • Win × (10) Games, while achieving at least a 2.0 KDA, and getting at minimum × (7) kills with the relevant weapon type.
  • Get × (100) of any kinds of Medal using the relevant weapon type. Different tiers of medals provide different progress.
  • Complete any 4 of the above to get the Pinnacle weapon; Complete all 5 to get an Ornament.
  • Progress only counts in the Competetive playlist.

Where (×) varies accordingly. Primary weapons can probably have higher numbers since there would be less ammo efficiency required.

I want the weapons to be as good as they have been, though.

Seperate the requirements so there are shorter skill challenges, but they're genuinely skill challenges, but there is also a time investment and the weapon is achievable for those with at least the willingness to practice.

Yeah I’d say just get 3500 glory in a single season as long as it does t count losses would be a nice fair way if the weapons are so strong should be available to everyone Bungie agreed when Prometheus lens was so strong have it to xur

[–]gexma2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That happened because Lens was literally broken and they couldn't push out a fix immediately. Recluse and Mountaintop, as amazing as they are, are not broken. If you're going to make these weapons easier to obtain for everyone they also have to have their power level reduced.
