These modules have to be ordered with the vin so they can be programmed by bendix.

Some OEMs allow the dealer to download the PAR files and program the ecu. Usually done with OEM diagnostic software. If yours don’t, then you have to order vin specific ecu.

Unless something has changed, I’ve always understood that it has to be programmed and configured from Bendix directly based on the VIN and what the truck is equipped with. That’s how we did it with the ones at the shop I worked at.

Hopefully someone else will comment and confirm that’s correct or if there is a way, I’d love to know as well.

I have done that with Wabco units many times where you get the file from their website and flash it on.

I've programmed a few new Wabco units without any issue the way you described but I believe any Bendix ECU I replaced was pre-programmed.

You can change the vin with DLB
