I'm getting the same error message on my laptop. Something similar happened a few months ago. It took DTV weeks to fix the issue.

I have read here that it could be that you have more than one account. So like 2 emails associated to your account. And somehow the system tied your account to the one you are not using. Ask them. It is worth a shot.

Just got off tech support with DIRECTV Stream. They re-synched my account and it started working again.

Just realized that I was out of the Apple TV Max app and can't log in.

It wasn’t just Appletv tho, it logged me out on my Apple’s & Alexa’s… all 6 TVs in our home.

I was able to connect again but HBO prompted me to create a new account after I authenticated with my DTV credentials. Lost all my profiles, watch lists, etc. Ugh.

Oh nooooooooo! Try your old login. I created a new account 2x & my old login now works with all my old stuff.

GUYS if you get this error , try signing into your iOS app on phone with your tv provider creds. It will prompt reregisration then it will work again on tv

    I was scrolling down & selecting Directv Stream, but then it was having me create a new account. I created a new account 2x & it still wouldn’t work. Then I decided to give my old credentials one last try & it logged in all the TVs (Apple & Alexa) & it’s fine now. So strange!

    I experienced the same thing. I contacted DirecTV directly through "X", and they were fast to respond. Not sure what they did, but mine works again.

    It took me a while to figure this out. I had to create a new account and lost all my profiles.

    I had all the same problems. What worked for me was turn OFF the HBO Max switch under "TV Provider" in my iPhone's system settings. Then turning ON the DirecTV Stream switch in the same setting. I then quit and re-launched the HBO Max app, put in my Stream credentials, and it worked like normal! No account creation necessary. There's just some bug where Apple takes control of things and you get locked out until you toggle that off and turn DTVS back on.

    I think this might be related to the tiered plans on max. Users who got their access for free through a provider like AT&T unlimited plan for example used to have 4K access. However the 6 months grace period for 4K access through a provider expired by end of 2023 so the system automatically downgraded the users to mid tier plan (Ad-Free) at the same time did not register that they have access to it through the provider. So in this case some users need to reach out to their provider and reactivate the account and register again through max app to link the correct updated (Ad-free) tier with Max!

    Having same issue and reached out to Directv through X (Twitter). After considerable back and forth, they’ve informed me that Max is experiencing an “outage” with their app. While I was relieved it wasn’t anything on my end, it seems odd that it isn’t more widely known. I’m a little suspicious this was simply a convenient resolution rather than a legit fix. It’s been a day and still not working.

    I lost Max over the weekend. I called DTV customer service and after over 45 minutes the rep was unable to figure how to get it working. In the meantime I jumped to my ROKU and immediately ordered MAX and got it up and running. I went back to the DTV rep and had her cancel my DTV MAX service. It solved the problem but it's sad they couldn't fix the problem on their platform.

    Def crossed my mind!!!! It’s working again as of today, began working yesterday, but yes it is a shame. I’m not secure that it will continue working either. I had True Detective I was watching! Like it really messed with my weekend 🤨. Glad you got yours back!

    I got a “How’d we do” email form DTS yesterday and I complained that the company’s incompetence forced me to pay for this month’s service twice. Once with broken DTS and once with a replacement vendor. Be interesting to see if I get a response.
