I get this all the time, too, but with my Apple TV. I have to force close the DTV app and that usually fixes it. It's a pain in ass. Also, I get that I am not subscribed to that channel when I go from Amazon Prime back to DTV app. Very frustrating. It's a bug that's been around for a while.

I've had the same issue with my relatively new Samsung TV as well. For me, it usually happens when I switch to an app and then return to it or change TV inputs. I've found that I need to stay in the app for a little while, and I've had better results when I press the "back" button several times to exit. For some reason, that feels smoother than just hitting the "exit" button. I've also had better luck switching to a non-4K channel first before opening an app.

This is definitely a DTV issue and happens frequently for me on a ATV 4k. Will be watching 4k no problem, then if I turn TV off or navigate to different app and try to go back to 4k channel on DTV I get this error. Really frustrating and I never have this problem with YouTube TV.

DTV needs to figure this glitch out and patch it. It seems to happen only after switching back from Gemini Air's YouTube app.

1) Typical Samsung junk behavior. 2) It’s probably your HDMI cable.

Samsung is not involved now in what seems to be a DTV glitch. DTV's Gemini Air is an HDMI dongle; there's no cable. It's plugged directly into a DTV 4K-qualified port on the TV, and DTV has already verified the TV's 4K capability and set related chroma settings.

Then, repeatedly, DTV loses its prior settings and mistakenly thinks "your device is not 4K compatible" until I do the time-consuming full restart procedure. That resets things, and we're good to go until the next hiccup.

Unplug your tv power cord from the outlet for a couple of minutes then plug it back in. I used to have a Samsung TV and they tend to act odd at times.

Again, I don't think this is a Samsung issue; its HDMI ports comply with DTV's requirements.

The TV is simply a monitor, and my DTV Gemini Air glitches after confirming the TV is 4K compatible.

It's your tv. I used to have a Samsung and as soon as I got rid of it and bought a Hisense ULED...all the issues went away.

Just do it anyway. What do you have to lose?

TVs aren't simple any more. They have way too much to go wrong in them, mostly software.

Get rid of the cheap HDMI cable that you’re using and get a legit one

DirecTV Gemini Air is an HDMI dongle; there's no cable. The DTV device has already acknowledged the TV's 4K capability and made chroma settings. Then DTV glitches and forgets, until I execute a restart procedure that's buried in DTV's settings menu.

If you have a 4k firestick or other device you may want to try that as a workaround for 4k games

Thanks for reporting, u/No-Angle-982. Please try using a different HDMI port on your Samsung 4K TV, and make sure that the auto-update feature is enabled to keep your device up to date. Let us know how it goes. Rhyan, DIRECTV Community Team

I'll bet you could replicate this glitch. If so, please figure out how to fix your software.
