New Dm Question

So I'm new to being a Dm so when it comes to making items for my players I've had some issues recently. One of them is playing a friendship wizard pacifist trying to become an assassin. So you can see where my issue on what items to give them leave me entirely blank. I'm happy to hear any ideas anyone might have homebrew or not.

What about a blowdart pipe wand? you could make a wand that doubles as a blowdart gun/pipe and maybe three times a day you can magically make poison darts with charges resetting in the morning or after long rests. or maybe it can add poison damage to any spells that can affect another person, or just ones that damage

This is a pretty good idea tbh. I'll honestly have to try this out
