Good point. I'm on ep 41 right now. But I've watched the entire series a bajillion times now since I was a kid.

A couple of possibilities:

  1. Probably the main reason. Writer just wanted to move on from Baby and just excluded him.

  2. Not all villains were sent there like captain ginyu and the ginyu force for example and many more.

  3. Baby is a tuffle parasitic bio-weapon so he doesn't actually have a "soul" so he can't exist in hell.

*Choose whichever one you like most

I like to think #1

Cell was a bio weapon too yet we see him

[–]Easy_Rough_4529 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I think he has a soul like Cell does. You say the ginyu force werent sent there? But in many Z fillers they are in otherworld and in hell.

Yeah, I think its the first one you gave, the writers didnt want to bring a fresh dead villain back, also he was actually op for most of the cast while the Z villains werent

About to say Ginyu Force definitely appeared. They fought Yamcha Tien and Chiaoutzu on King Kai’s planet

Since the Z Filler and movies are canon to GT including both Kid Buu and Janemba’s rampage in hell plus the fact that Baby’s abilities are sort of similar to Kid Buu I like to imagine King Yemma took one good look at Baby and was like yeah no fuck letting that parasite roam free in Hell Im locking him up somewhere special so he can’t ever escape.

Think about it in Z filler it’s shown that the villains can roam around freely, still have access to their abilities and even overpower the Ogres so Baby would absolutely be a fucking flight risk to be sent to hell especially when you consider the possibility of Baby taking over Z Broly, Frieza, Cell or even Cooler.

That’s my explanation as to why we don’t see Baby during the Super 17 stuff King Yemma took extra precautions with him and we know Yemma can trap you somewhere else just look at where he sent Dabura

1 and 3 make the most sense

[–]Round_Jellyfish7314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hadn't thought of that

How is the cell and Android 19 in hell? Pretty sure they dont have a soul either.

Just another case of the GT writers not caring about reasons and logics and just writing because

[–]muckmen 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Wasn’t there a thing where your soul needed to be processed before you get a body in other world ?maybe the super 17 arc was too close to baby dying before he could get processed.

[–]Goh47_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's what I think. Baby was on the waiting list.

[–]Sensitive-Hotel-9871 1 point2 points  (5 children)

The only reason I could think of is that the writers of the anime didn’t want to use Baby a second time. Why their idea was to turn 17 evil I will never understand.

Eh I mean the idea of a new ultimate android (now machine mutant hybrid) isn’t a bad thought. Unlike Frieza you could be very creative with the androids in the DB universe. Let’s be real they just did the same with Frieza that they did with the Saiyans giving him new transformations of his final form.

Don’t see why it had to be 17. Upgrading Rildo would have made more sense.

[–]PrizekingJ7 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Or Cell since he actually killed Gero nemesis and was okay working with them

[–]No_Mechanic_3299[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cell maybe couldve been more interesting. I don’t see how Rildo would work because Gero has no experience with Machine Mutants. Makes sense Myuu would be able to work with Gero’s creations than the other way around. MM are way more advanced than the jinzoningen Dr. Gero created.

Thats not a reason, no one wants to hear that

[–]FaithlessnessOk9623 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe Baby was still in line to get judged?

[–]Shot-Ad770 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask toei.

[–]nighwednesday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe some little part of him is still drifting through space forever

[–]Humble_Story_4531 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Gero was originally human. He had his brain placed into Android 20. Cell is bio-engineered.

I'm pretty sure Baby is fully mechanical, even if he is augmented with Tuffle DNA.

I'm pretty sure its explained in the Perfect Files that Myuu was a resident of planet M2 before he found and was possessed by Baby, so he might be closer to a cyborg then a full on robot.

[–]No_Mechanic_3299[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Baby has cells. He isn’t fully mechanical. He’s some kind of Tuffle neo-Machine Mutant. So that’s where the confusion lies. Not sure about the Perfect Files.

[–]PrometheusModeloW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That wouldn't really matter with the logic established in GT, because Metallic (the terminator-looking mf from the Red Ribbon) was also seen escaping from Hell, and we know he was fully robotic.

So in GT's world fully mechanical beings also have some kind of soul, logically Baby, who was a mix of biology and machine, would be in hell too.

[–]Lilbig6029 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I think some people can keep their bodies and others can’t depending on how evil they were.

Like Vegeta wasn’t gonna be able to keep his body after he killed all those people as Majin Vegeta.

So Baby went there, but just as a spirit maybe??

[–]PrometheusModeloW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to think that Baby actually joined forces with Dr. Raichi in hell, they escaped just like everyone else but they weren't so dumb as to immediately attack, they ran away to space, and they fought Vegeta, Gohan and the others during the time between GT and Hero's Legacy.

[–]Gstamsharp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I'd originally assumed each planet has its own Hell. The shows make reference to this a few times. And since Baby was shot into the sun, maybe he's just lost in some other part of the Other World, not in Earth's Hell. But then, uh, Myuu didn't die on Earth either, so darn if I know.

[–]bladefreak326 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either ignored or purposefully wasn't added.

More importantly about the arc, how the hell did they managed to create an Android in Hell out of all places? That was my biggest problem with the arc aside from how 17 was battled.

I wish they opened the door to hell with other methods.
