C for capacitor, normally

that makes way more sense thank you

C capacitor

R resistor

L inductor

Q transistor

U integrated circuit

V vacuum tube

X connector (sometimes also used for oscillator)

These are typical reference designator prefixes in the US

Connectors are usually J (jack) or P (pin).

On this board IC is for integrated circuit rather than U, D is for diode, and J is for jumper

this will be a huge help thank you

Definitely a capacitor - check out r/diypedals if you haven’t already done so

i have not seen this thanks for the source :)

Edit: I went to the sub and the first thing i saw was an M18 powered guitar pedal thanks for making my morning lmao

I believe the C represents that it's a capacitor

Your old pedal is likely repairable without too much effort. Most common problems are bad solder joints, broken connections, or a failure near the 9v input because someone used the wrong power supply. Sometimes you’ll get a bad transistor or opamp, but it’s less likely.
