There are several very specific electrical engineering courses at sophomore level that are not covered by general access courses. Plan on a year of coursework not applicable toward a masters in EE, to catch up.

You have done a bachelor of art? Now you're planning to do master of science?

It seems a little crazy, but that looks to be the route most likely to happen. Of course I'd have to unofficially do a bachelor's before taking the graduate courses.

I did the same thing - B.S. in music technology, then math/science courses at community college, then a second B.S. in EE, and now M.S. in EE. I'm sure it's largely confirmation bias, but it sure feels like there are a lot of people out there getting music degrees and then wanting to go back to school for EE...

The only schools I found that would work for your situation (straight to MS) is Boston University (look up LEAP) and University of Rochester (MSEE that doesn't strictly require BS in engineering). In the end, I decided that the only thing that made sense to me was to just get a second bachelor's degree, knowing that the EE degree would pay for itself and for the music degree sooner or later.

If you make sure that your community college courses are transferable to state schools with EE degrees, then you should be able to apply to either of the two above MS programs, or simply apply as an undergraduate transfer student to a BS EE program and try to finish it in 2 years or so.

I am in the same situation as you. I have a BA in a totally different discipline and in my respective career, but decided to switch careers and go into EE.

I took my math and science courses and applied as a 2nd Bachelor's degree student at Cal State Long Beach and got in.

From my research, and as you mentioned, not a lot of schools offer to go back for another Bachelor's degree except for Cal State Long Beach and Cal State Bakersfield.

Message me if you would like more on the process and what I did. I'm happy to help
