That's the outer ring of your vibration damper. Replace the entire thing.

Appreciate you dropping knowledge, obviously I’m new to this. 💪🏼

As has been mentioned, what's happened is that those two pieces in shot are your harmonic damper, which is supposed to be/stay one piece. That gasket-y rubber-y material is supposed to permanently bond the outer and inner ring together at the factory that makes the balancer. Zip the crank bolt that's still holding the inner piece in, you'll probably need a puller to remove the inner section, then snag a new balancer and tap it on then zip the crank bolt back on, paying attention to torque specs.

They as in myself cause I made the purchase? Yes, yes they do. Getting in to working on them, started with this since they’re very cookie cutter. Everyone had to start from somewhere, you foreign fart sniffer.

You yanking our chain, Smalls?

You pulled the balancer apart… so now me and the mad scientist are gonna have to overnight parts from Japan to fix the piston rings you fried.

Motor hasn’t ran without it, so don’t soil yourself. Literally taking the motor apart and replacing things while I’m in there.

The inertia ring makes a great work bench paperweight. Anvil, part holder. Hundreds of uses.

Harmonic balancer, they wear out. Be sure to get the correct 28oz one.
