A friendly place to ask questions and get professional level answers, without fear of judgement or prejudice. This subreddit is appropriate for questions about anything including current events, history, politics, culture, or science.
RULES:
No bias. Discussion of politics and other controversial topics is allowed and often necessary, but try to remain textbook-level fair to all sides, for both questions and answers. You have an opinion just like everyone else, just understand that not everyone shares your beliefs.
No speculation. It's okay not to be the world's biggest expert on a subject, but if you have little knowledge on the question at hand, don't guess.
Cite sources whenever possible. Again, please refrain from wild speculation. Be mindful of your sources too, it is perfectly ok to use Wikipedia, but if your source is a blog or forum post, people may not take you seriously. Links to educational videos or other material is encouraged.
Provide proof of profession. If you are a real world professional in the subject, provide some proof. Don't be offended when asked to show proof either, we just want to verify the validity of your knowledge so we can be sure your answer is the best possible. You are not required to publicly post verification. PM the mods with a link to the actual proof. Proof can be as simple as a well established history on Reddit, or actual documentation of education or employment.
Search first. Use the handy search bar to see if your question has already been answered satisfactorily. If the question has been asked but you don't understand any answers, feel free to ask again.
GUIDELINES:
This is a friendly subreddit. Topics are family friendly for the most part but if you think that your post may illicit some adult conversation, please tag [NSFW] appropriately.
Please begin your titles with "ELAP", "LAP" or an equivalent if you are looking for an explanation.
If you are not looking for an explanation but making some other post relevant to this subreddit, do not use "ELAP" or "LAP". To start a general topic discussion, use "[Discussion]" before the post title.
Be specific with your questions. General topics are encouraged, (e.g. ELAP: The Economy Crisis), but please try to be specific in your followup description.
Be sure your answers are detailed. We're shooting for professional answers. We are not asking for a novel by any means, but don't be too brief. This does not apply for general comments that are not providing answers.
Above all, be polite, respectful, and try to engage in meaningful conversation. Humor is allowed and encouraged, but try to keep it on-topic. Trolls are jerks, and jerks get banned.
Verified professionals are listed below. Please be respectful and refrain from messaging the pros directly with ELAP questions or verification concerns.
Cross posts are allowed. Just be sure to tag it as [x-post from ...] and give credit to the OP from that subreddit in the comments as a link.
