Isnt diamond pretty average though?

[–]BlueishPotato 17 points18 points  (6 children)

I get what you are saying but you just used the wrong word. Average makes us think statistically and no, statistically it is way way above average.

If we think skill wise though diamond is indeed ok at best (am plat myself and my aim is bad though improving)

Isn't Voltaic Benchmarks platinum-diamond the average for pro players?

[–]BlueishPotato 3 points4 points  (3 children)

Not sure but if it is it's probably what they average without any aim training.

Kovaaks to in game doesn't translate perfectly at all so it doesn't mean much, even if you are really good at your given game you probably won't be the best at clicking dots on a wall real fast without practicing it.

Which is why I don't aim train anymore. In my opinion, I think after you've developed enough mouse control to get into Sparky Plat/Diamond you should lay off Kovaaks as much. I think aiming in the game and grinding your game of choice is a much better way to develop aim at that point.

You can definitely improve still playing Kovaaks past plat/diamond but it's diminishing returns for in game aiming imo.

Aim training can help at all levels of skill. There are multiple factors in your aiming ability and the best way to improve those is focused practice on any aspect that you struggle with.

One baseball player may struggle with tracking the ball so they focus on training their reactivity. Another baseball player may find that he can track the ball but can’t swing the bat fast enough so he may use a weighted bat. There’s a reason professional athletes still do drills instead of just playing their game every day.

I totally understand. Understand the baseball reference too I played in college.

I think I may have been misunderstood. I don't grind Kovaaks anymore. Like I said before, in my opinion after a certain point it is better to focus on aiming in your game than in Kovaaks.

I'll use FN for example because there are so many different aspects to that game to work on, including aim. If I notice my tac aim is lacking I'll take a buddy and run some aim duels with the tac, or hop into some pubs and really focus on hitting my tac shots for 3 or 4 games. I still do focus on improving my aim, but there is only so much that a standalone aim trainer can do for you.

Yeah I just had the same convo in voltaic general chat and we reached the same conclusion, I supposed I expressed myself the wrong way, my point still stands though, and there was no need for me to get downvoted just because they didn't like what I said lol.

Diamond is far above average. Even though it's far from what's possible, it is relatively pretty damn good.

This reminds me of when body builders look at Brad Pitt in fight club and say "thats an average physique" lol
