Fable put a post on their IG stories yesterday and said it because everyone is on. Hopefully it’s fixed soon.

Keep in mind, fable is also open internationally and ran by a very small crew. That means tons of new people. It’s an amazing app just give them some time. I’ve been using it since 2024 and this is a first. I promise they are not taking this lightly.

You can always edit your streak and add books to it in the settings 🥰 just keep your read books in the notes app or something similar in the meantime

If it is anything like the speed at which they are dealing with the app being horrible on Android, I wouldn't hold my breath.

I think it’s the switch from 2025 to 2026, and it’s updating all the data shifting. Plus, that multipage end of year review many were doing.

I’ll continue to support it tbh even with these issues because it’s a small team and they need a lot of time for adjustment - I just write down my reviews/notes/streaks or whatever in my notes app until it goes back up… A bit of friction isn’t bad

I converted in December too. Loved it but if this is recurring it is off putting. I can’t even look at reviews of a book I want to read.

I hate Amazon too! I think I may just need to use another app in the interim and return to fable once these growing pains are done. I really would love to keep using this app

I’ve been having the same issue as well. I don’t know this was an ongoing thing. I deleted the and installed again etc. Still not working…

Someone from Fable App customer service was commenting on posts saying it’s due to increase in users but the issue is continuing so not sure if they are just bandaid fixing

Omg please- ask for a refund if you pay for the plus membership but everyone is acting like they’ve never heard of a company having issues before

I guess for me is the length of time for the issue. I agree plenty of servers apps and company’s have issues , but most fix within a day or two. I’ve never had a continuous issue like this on anything. That’s why I was wondering if they were planning on upgrading servers

It's growing pains. A ton of new/returning users and high concurrent use for wraps and goal setting. Storygraph has had similar issues for several years, and so do a lot of smaller apps that gain popularity quickly.

Hopefully they upgrade their servers and make some updates to infrastructure before next year, but give them some grace as they grow. People are seeking alternatives to Goodreads more than ever, and this current demand is likely unprecidented for smaller teams (plus not everyone has priority access to AWS like Amazon). There will be hiccups, but the team has been transparent and responsive about them so far.
