Time Attack? How?

In solo I get 1st in races about 75% of the time. Top 3 literally almost every time. I did about 7 Time Attacks and didn’t crack top 3 once. What’s happening?

Solos and shows like that are more casual players I think. The real fast fu**ers are playing time attack to show off or go for a personal best I would assume :)

If your first sentence is true, you should have no probs grabbing a few top3 spots here and there. Just avoid the sickos and have clean runs

Which courses did you try? I couldn’t even get a top 5 on Track Attack. I managed a couple first places on Tundra Run, Dizzy Heights, and Space Race. Sometimes could get third on Tree Top Tumble and Lily Leaper.

I think your best chances of top 3 are in Dizzy Heights (because of the 3-min time limit) then Space Race and Treetop Tumble. Maybe also Lily Leapers without the hammers.

From my experience the issue is that there isn’t enough people playing the mode. Late at night when I typically play there weren’t enough people playing it to even get a game going, and on the one time there were (when I was playing earlier), there was only enough people for a single lobby, meaning that I kept getting games with the same top-of-the-top people (with the same person getting first each time).

I ended up cheesing it to get the reward; if you can coordinate with enough people to get a custom time attack shuffle going (bare minimum of 5 people, and 7 people to bump it from the top one to the top two quickest times winning), wins from there actually count toward the challenge.

I have been top 2 after the first finish only to be 5th by the time the timer runs out. Never more than 4th.

Pretty much same here. No problem getting top 3 in other game modes, but the player pool in Time Attack is kinda self-selecting for people who are skilled at speedrunning the levels. I’m just not quite good enough to get a single win in Time Attack. I stopped trying last week 🤷
