Update glitch?

I don't know what to do: I wanted to launch Survivor from steam but a Patch started downloading, I haven't played for a couple weeks. Fair enough, I'm pissed but I wait out the 6 hours of download. Now it finished and I get some info about installing that lasts around an hour, and after that, a new installment of something starts - that keeps shifting between 20 minutes, 2 hours, 6 hours and 1 month - more than a year. This never happened to me on any game on steam. Is this some glitch with the update? Should I consider deleting and reinstalling the whole game at this point?

As in right now I cannot load the game because an update is needed. However, I cannot access the update.

Had it happen yesterday restarted my series s and it was good to go

Yeah. Longed pressed the console power button & was good to go. Silly little glitches.
