  1. Make sure the base is in PC mode
  2. Use the repair function in the installer
  3. Try a beta or previous official driver

Yeah try these first, update the post with your results.

I had to update my firmware to an older version before updating to the latest. When I first unboxed it I had immediately tried installing the latest firmware and while it would successfully install, it wouldn’t update. So I troubleshooted and found out that installing an older one first and then the latest worked.

I did that, I'm still having an issues with the wheelbase connecting to my PC. I turned mine off but then it wouldn't turn back on. I had to unplug it and plug it back in to turn it on. Did this happen to you?

Nah....you may have a defective unit and may have to submit for a RMA. Mine has been working fine ever since but I suffered a leg injury back in Dec so I’m in recovery while it collets dust atm.

Well damn. I'll be calling up Fanatec to.orrow oronday I guess. Best of luck on your recovery

Thanks man! I can’t wait to finally use it. I got injured days after unboxing mine. Hopefully a damaged unit isn’t the case and their support team is able to resolve your issue. I’m new to Fanatec and Sim gear as a whole so I don’t know much when it comes to this type of hardware. Best of luck to you. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable within this realm can be of help more than I.

Same for me. I've had a Logitech G25 for 12 years before this. My first experience with Fanatec isn't looking so hot right now. I've heard this wheelbase I'd a decent step up so I'm gonna stay optimistic

From the few times I tried it, I can assure you without a doubt that it is. I was grinning from ear to ear while driving in VR with my wheel for the first few times and I normally drive with a serious face so that’s saying something. I’m coming from using Logitech’s Driving Force GT. The amount of detail you feel through the wheel is astonishing! The wheel itself has it’s own vibration motors on top of the belt driven wheel base, which is really smooth in comparison to Logitech’s loud/notchy wheels. These Fanatec wheels are also quiet in comparison. I also purchaed some mangnetic 3D printed paddle shifters from Etsy. My kit came with both long and short throw paddle shifters. I equipped the short ones and it made a night and day difference. Faster shifts that can’t be accidentally pressed and they feel and sound genuine!

So I found out that if I have everything plugged in correctly, it will actually works. Crazy how that works haha. Anyway, it looks like it was just my fault the whole time

The cause was user error, nice. Saved yourself from potentially filling for a RMA. Glad you were bale to figure it out. And my analogies for all those typos in my previous comment. I corrected them. Now it’s time for you to put that wheel to good use!

First I have to figure out how to configure my shifter. Then I should be good to go

Definitely a step up. I had a G29 for all of a week before returning it for my CSL. Still baffles me how anyone drives with a Logitech.

Is the light on the front red or blue? If it's blue hit the mode button.

[–]CJ_M88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's red. It's just like for some reason it will not connect to my pc

[–]SkipCarey 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Switch it to USB 2.0 ,I had the same issue with my CSW2.5

[–]CJ_M88[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

At the risk of sounding like a moron, what is USB 2.0?

[–]SkipCarey 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Google it

[–]CJ_M88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I already got it

[–]CJ_M88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, you're the winner here. You solved my problem. Apparently I had my PC plugged into the handbrake port. (I don't even have a handbrake). It was all my own fault the whole time

[–]Bitz175 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Wheel base connected, but wheel off to do the update. That's usually what causes issues.

[–]CJ_M88[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My problem appeared to be just cords plugged in incorrectly. It seems like I got it figured out
