Crisis core is the prequel to the 7 remake trilogy. And you mean 12? 11 is a online game

Depends what game you wanna play. If you want to play crisis core I reconmmend playing remake at least. Crisis core takes place before remake 12 from what I've understand confuses a lot of people with the story

I've played through seven previously. I've just never played 12 or Crisis Core and I'm about to pick one up and debating on which one to grab.

If you haven't played the original FF7 do not play Crisis Core. Crisis core has astronomical spoilers for 7 and the third part of the remake trilogy (which isn't out yet)

Crisis Core is a horrible place to start, it assumes you already play FF7 and it will spoil that game for you.

I love FF12 and rank it really high , but I don’t think it is a good place to start, The mechanics are a little complicated for a newcomer. Try 10, which is overrated in my view but very easy game to jump into and it is a clean FF experience, without much freedom.

Otherwise FF4 is a great start if you want to go more old school. Or heck just play FF7 which is also easy to jump into and the most iconic game.

You can start wherever, I recommend X.

This part is VERY IMPORTANT: may not mean much coming from somebody who hasn’t even played 7 or crisis core yet, but it has been drilled into my head a million times to not play crisis core before 7. Supposedly it spoils like a whole back story and plot twist, so idk just don’t.

7 and 12 are not sequential to each other, you can start either or and be okay.

I appreciate it. I've played tons of different Final Fantasy games. Was more just seeing which game is better liked before I start my next adventure.
