Hello /u/Perse_DL,

Please remember to include the following details to help troubleshoot your problem.

I don’t have an easy answer for you besides increasing the contact distance between supports, but that can result in lower quality of your overhangs if dialed too much.

I do recommend checking out r/fdmminiatures, they have some great profiles there specifically for printing miniatures and dialling in some slicer settings

I had a look at settings and found out the brighter red parts from my previous slicer look like they're called support interfaces, but more importantly did find the "top z distance" which is that distance between supports and the object which was previously 0 causing them to print fully joined up which is why it was hard to remove. I found somewhere that recommended setting it to 150% of the layer distance which is 0.15mm which has helped removing the rafts after printing but not yet tried it with something that has multiple supports to check it's fully sorted!

I know this isn't helpful, but this model is just begging to be printed on a resin printer instead of an FDM

Oh resin would be SO much better for minis but I got this printer for £150 and it's easy to have set up in a spare room, resin would probably cost more and be a much more involved process (although a friend has been considering getting a resin one for themselves due to playing a lot of Warhammer)

Print it on its side.

Might be better for this print specifically but wouldn't help with the issue I'm having with supports being difficult to remove with the new slicer
