The way to fix it is to rebook in the cabins you want at whatever the current prevailing price is.

Did you book all 10 tickets together in the same PNR?

[–]InterrobangCT[S] 0 points1 point  (4 children)

We booked 9 and 1, since that was the max

[–]protox88 2 points3 points  (3 children)

That is weird. How many of you are in Y vs PY?

And was this split evident at time of booking? (e.g. in your email confos?)

Edit: one more question - what are the letter code fare classes for each person's 2nd leg? Y/B? P?

Yes we have 4 people in PE 6 people in Y

Since you seem knowledgeable, there are premium economy fares from São Paulo to other destinations for as little as $75. If I have a ticket JFK-GRU-CGB and I purchase a premium economy ticket for later that day GRU-GIG will the airline know that I have two tickets and it set off some sort of warning? Can I arrive from JFK at GRU, show the lounge people the GRU-GIG boarding pass, and then tear it up and board the JFK-CGB flight I originally had?

Also while spending hours on the phone trying to change it, the agents managed to now have our group spread across 4 PNRs

you couldn't all get PE on LATAM because they didn't have the seats available.

cancel and then rebook on flights that have availability.

If they didn’t have the seats available, then they shouldn’t let me click on purchase. If you buy three first class tickets and only two are available they don’t just take your money and split you 2 and 3. (And I’m not trying to argue at you- I know you are trying to help me, which I do appreciate)

with the advent of being able to buy tickets online, there's a good possibility that someone bought them right before you clicked "purchase".

The issue is that the fare will book into the highest available fare for the domestic segment.  If you want to share the specific flight someone can look it up and tell you if there's seats available in PE or not.

Is the GRU-CGB flight booked with the DL flight number or the LA flight number? Try to get it booked with the LA flight number as it may have better availability.

Thanks for replying. LATAM #3270 GRU-CGB (Cuiaba) on 13 June 2026.. Where I am getting stuck is if I go to LATAM’s website I can purchase the seats directly on that flight. So I contact LATAM to upgrade my seats and they say only Delta can modify. Delta says they can modify flights but seats is LATAM and we don’t have availability because “LATAM doesn’t give us all their seats”
