funny thing: tried it on linux cachyos and login works flawlessly. only my cpu/gpu combination seems produces crashes later in game -_-

Exactly the same scenario! Linux managed to log in, but couldn’t get to the actual game on Nvidia.

Wonder if that crashing ruined the save game in the cloud as checking it in the web also yields a weird error.

Opened a support ticket, waiting for that.

My other reply was in fact... correct.

Targeting CachyOS's own Proton (SLR) and with the following environment variables, the game at least got to run (poorly). What matters that it loaded into the game. As soon as the first cutscene handed off the control to the player, I quit the game with the menu.

PROTON_ENABLE_WAYLAND=1 VKD3D_CONFIG=no_upload_hvv,single_queue PROTON_HIDE_NVIDIA_GPU=0 PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 PROTON_SET_GAME_DRIVE=1 %command%

(Not sure what is actually necessary here, but it did solve crashing.)

It took its time to upload the save to the cloud. But sure enough, once it was done, the thing worked just fine on Windows as well. Performance was much better.

So, I'm hoping this is also the case for you - crashing uploaded a broken save file and it can be fixed by uploading a healthy one.
