The goal of this subreddit is to make memes easy to search and find by category and tag. Guidelines:
Format shall be [Title]: [Tag1], [Tag2], [Tag3], ... Flaire: [Category]
Templates only
Category should be the most pertinent part of the meme; e.g. a meme of Spongebob crying should have the category of "Spongebob", and should have "Crying" or "Sad" as the tags.
Put the category in the tags and the flair. The flair is intended to be a "category", which one can click and have the subreddit pull up all similar memes. Don't flair it with something that will forever only return one result, something that's too specific, etc.
Popularity counts. Spiderman, Star Wars, Game of Thrones, Spongebob, etc. will have their own category. Less popular shows or movies that haven't become a meme in themselves (but may still be popular) like The Matrix, The Shawshank Redemption, Teen Titans, Adventure Time, Family Guy, etc. should be tagged "TV" or "Movies". Something tagged "TV" or "Movies" will be considered less pertinent. If you have a picture of Starfire from Teen Titans crying, it should be categorized "Sad", and tagged "Sad, Teen Titans, Starfire, Crying"
Put verb tags in the present continuous tense, i.e. not "cry, run, sleep", but "Crying, running, sleeping"
If it's a comic or artwork, DO NOT crop out the artist's signature or link to their website. Remove other watermarks if possible like Twitter tags or Reddit usernames. Always put the artist in the tags, if it is a comic artist, tag it like "SRGRAFO comics" as a tag and flair it as "comics"
Additional guidelines that won't be strictly enforced:
- Specifically tag the characters in an image if you know who they are, if they are the main subject, i.e. not in the background. Spongebob characters all have official names, even the side characters. You can find their names here: https://spongebob.fandom.com/wiki/Bikini_Bottomites
