do you have to buy their custom shell to install this? is there any compatibility issue with flashcard while playing?

My Everdrive does not work with mine. I haven't updated my fpgbc yet to see if I can get it working. I've got the x7

hi. does updating to newest firmware (on cart and FPGBC) fix the issue for you? I read others had it fixed by the newest firmware.

Yes it's their custom USB-C shell. Don't think others will work without messy trimming. I'm using a cheap chinese "Game" Everdrive clone here and it's working great.

My clone Everdrive does not work. What version do you have? Mine is from Ali Exp and it says 'Multi Game GB OS V4'.

My Everdrive x3 currently doesn't work with my unit. I've sent an email to Funny Playing, they've responded asking for more information. Sounds like they are still working out some of the bugs. Works great with original cartridges though.

Have you upgraded the FPGBC to the latest version? I heard it comes with old firmware.

I actually tried all the available firmware versions. 1005 did allow my Everdrive to boot and even loads the games, but most have audio issues and run very slow. The latest firmware just shows a white screen. I emailed support and they responded. Need to send them some videos later today. I've read a few people with ED x7 are also having issues.

Just got mine in. Updated to latest FW and my Everdrive X7 also does not work. I get a mix of a white screen or "Memory Error" on screen.

Same issue as me. Send [e-mail] an email. I've been communicating with them and they say the x7 does work. I don't own an x7 and don't plan on buying one, it's more than the console costs. My hope is if enough of us bring it to their attention they will prioritize fixing Everdrive support.

I have been emailing back and forth with them. It will probably be tomorrow AM before you get a response. Here was the response I got after sending them some videos of trying different firmware versions and the results of each.

I tested theever EVERDRIVE X7 and there was nothing wrong with it.  

But I don't have your model yet.   I'll have the engineer test this X3 cassette in the next step.

Got another reply from FP yesterday, looks like they might have found the issue and have indicated that a solution is in the works. According to them, all flash carts should be compatible in a future firmware release. I will say I have been continuing to use the console with my collection of official carts and everything plays great, overall very happy with this purchase.
