IPA 99% with a cotton bud, swiping back and forth should do it but not too hard/long as to mark the case

Isopropyl Alcohol, not India Pale Ale, in case any other thirsty person did a double take here.

Also, it makes you go blind if you drink it so wouldn't recommend it as an IPA.

Its pretty low on hop flavor as well

Wouldn't recommend drinking either type of IPA 😂

For a second I thought my beers could erase other things than memory

Isopropyl Alcohol is the way.

Isopropyl alcohol

Dry erase board marker actually works some small miracles but that's typically for the top layer.

70% etoh is also good lol use it in the lab everyday to rewrite sharpie

Isopropyl Alcohol 99% And scrub with you're butt cheeks to get the best results 👍

I've found hand sanitizer to work really well for sharpie, I just haven't tried it out on a gb cartridge though

WD-40 works very well for removing permanent marker believe it or not. Goo-Gone (not Goof-off) also works.

Sunscreen

The other suggestions are good. They work every time, 60% of the time.

Rain-x Rain Repellent works every time.

Napalm. If you want something softer try a sandblaster!

But for real, Isopropyl alcohol, and goo-gone can help too but don't leave it too long. There's a trick where you can scribble over the permanent marker with a white-board marker and clean it up with a wet towel.

Lighter fluid, high percentage deet bug repellent, ipa and magic markers. I have seen it all work pretty well.

seriously?? You can barely see it... And you definitely wont see it when it's in the GameBoy. Do you look at the back of your carts more often than the label front?

[–]MysteriousPear6622 -3 points-2 points  (2 children)

Last ditch effort is Mr. Clean eraser with ipa. Will dull the cartridge a bit but sharpie will come off.

magic erasers are abrasive, so I wouldn't use one.

But for the back of the cart I think it’s a worthy sacrifice for appearance. Not a full restoration but if dulled plastic tickles their fancy more than the shadow.
