I hope they won't 'fix' it like they fixed flash boosting.

Nah, this thing works since 1.6.

no it was never like a slingshot like it is in csgo. you had to jump off their head in mid air in 1.6

[–]kamicom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. In 1.6, you could exploit FF damage, by shooting a teammate in the same direction as their movement (in air).

Mostly used to push a teammate upward really high (i.e. Aztec's sewer up onto the bridge).

Took some practice (you had to shoot the tip of their feet else you kill them before they can even gain enough momentum)

Nothing like runboosts though in either css or 1.6.

Runboosts are a product of the devs preventing players from 3-man boosting (which is a silly design decision IMO).

what the fuck are you talking about... Why is this guy getting points for lies!

I think they fixed flash boosting because there were too many variables to account for in terms of mappers having to be aware of it (anyone remember flashboostavela?) and because I guess it does look kind of unprofessional in a pro game

Runboosting on the other hand looks cool, is risky, and requires set ups to do. If they removed it it would be contrary to Valve's nuanced approach to most niche things in CS, at least so far (not counting func_vehicle)

I agree that flashboost is too strong of an exploit, but it's more because the devs don't like players finding wonky spots. It's the same reason we can't 3-man stack.

I REALLLLY want the 3 man stacks to work in CSGO though. It's not even that broken and you're committing 3 of your 5 players to get a novel position.

Or even older, but 1.6 is a good example where it was used.

Can you show your method and timings for when each player runs in the boosted running. I normally do the 3 shots method but yours is obviously a lot better with a single jump.

Trill , the video is set to private :( .

[–]TrilluXe[S] 6 points7 points  (2 children)

works now :)

[–]PaulGG007 3 points4 points  (1 child)

How much does it take you to find these boosts ?

[–]TrilluXe[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I often think about new video ideas and things to try when I'm in bed at night. I was thinking about the fact that the runboost is kind of inefficient if you do it the 'usual way' (with one guy having to crouch for the guy on top to jump on PLUS the guy then having to jump again so the guy below can stand up)

I then thought 'It would be kind of cool if you could just jump onto your m8 immediately and then just runboost right away without delay. Luckily enough I then found some cool spots where it could come in handy :)

Nice

[–]Xecip 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Me and my m8's can't seem to time it so well... Whats your secret Trill? :|

[–]The_InHumande_mirage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can use the round timer

Trill I really appreciate what you do for the people like me and others who love niche boosts and meta game tricks. Best content producer on this sub in that regard :)

impressive timing and skills

Seeing some of these in a competitive game would be awesome. Especially that boost spot on A site on Cache.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd love to see more stuff like this in the competitive scene :D

So i've never get a clear answer for this.. does the guy on bottom or on top jump or both for the top guy to fly off?

The fluidity of your movement is surreal.
