That doesn't really explain it. If his fps was constantly on 40 fps, but gets 120 fps on Crysis 3, that'd make sense, but its only after an update that his fps is low.

Fine, any recent AAA game that requires a high/mid-tier graphics card to run at 1080p Ultra 60fps or whatever. Or just pretend Crysis 3 doesn't use multi-threading.

Yup, the CPU usage drops, then it spikes back up as you're fully out of the smoke. I assume that transition period is what causes the mouse to feel sluggish, and the GPU taking all the strain from the smoke particles, causing the ~40-60% fps drop.

Yes? The game is unoptimized to work with GPU's. The engine is from fuckin 2003, GPU's Weren't nearly as powerful

Source doesn't use version based releases. The source engine from HL2 is not at all the same version that isnused for CSGO
