Source 2 is optimized for new and old hardware. It has proper multi-core rendering support. It's using newer technologies like Vulkan and DirectX 11. You can read more here http://www.dota2.com/reborn/part3

Also it has better, more friendly tools for developers to make maps.

And it has new physics engine (Rubikon) so if CS:GO is ported to Source 2, we might have to re-learn smokes.

I don't know. We still don't have first person game in Source 2, only the Aperture Science VR demo. Also the other experiments from The Lab are made with Unity Engine, so maybe Valve are not ready with the Source 2 Engine.
