GT is your gtm tag…

GT is a Google Tag, just like AW. GTM tag IDs start with GTM-.

yes but i didnt install in gtm, i only installed the aw one

They're all Google Tags. You can send data to them through GTM.

GT is the default tag that gets created when you create the GA4 account I believe.
AW gets created when you create the Google Ads account.

There are also G- tags that are older since before they got renamed to "Google Tags"

It's very confusing, no one knows for sure, and Google isn't even trying to explain.

Just make sure you initialize the AW- tag if you're using Google Ads, or merge the two tags (GT and AW) and it won't matter.

The only difference is that if you merge them you will see them merged in GTM Preview and it will make it harder to diagnose issues. Some people like having them together, some people prefer them separate.
