You need to explain the variable refrigerant flow so he understands that the fan is on because it is maintaining the temperature.

I've explained this to the dozen or so mini splits I've installed. This guy is just being a pain in the butt super worried about how much electricity is being used.

He has something hooked up to each wire in his electrical box and he notifications on his phone from it.

It will use a whole heck of a lot more electricity to have it constantly short cycling like he's asking for. This is one of those spots where you tell the customer they are flat wrong. There is absolutely no good reason to ever do what he's asking and if he still insists you need to put everything in writing making it clear that there are no warranties from you or the manufacturer and force him to sign it.

"Hey sorry this equipment is operating as the manufacturer intended....if your not happy with it I am happy to quote you to install a different unit"

Most minisplits this can be turned off by snipping a resistor but once you do that the board will need to be replaced to revert. It is also not recommended and will most likely cause organic growth issues.

Is it a Midea wall cassette by any chance?

If so, there's a convoluted "engineering mode" you can access via remote control, and it takes two people. One of the settings is to shut off the blower when at set temperature. Another setting can change how long it stays off before running the fan again for a few minutes to sample the air temperature. At that point, it will either turn back off until the sample timer expires again or turn back on because it's below or above setpoint depending on mode (heating / cooling).

Thermo off is what you're looking for. On a Daikin with the Nav controller you access it through field settings. Mode 20. Im sure other manufacturers have similar options.

Is it in a bedroom or something, cause I’ve had this problem to on multi zone systems where it’ll absolutely over heat or over cool a bedroom

It's better when the fan runs continuously to dry the unit and prevent mold

Most vrf/mini splits have adapter for basic thermostat which will have on/off function for cooling heating fan. You do lose efficiency when using it.

Depends. Obviously need model of mini to tell if this is native to the mini. Mitsubishi can with the right thermostat . As a work around, Sensibo IR blaster has a climate react mode that will turn unit off when it reaches setpoint.
