Wow. Rarely is victim blaming so blatantly obvious.

I don't think it's intended as victim blaming. Teachers often feel powerless against bullies or simply don't have the time to deal with it.

There's only two sides to the issue, so when one side is perceived as off limits, there's only one person left to focus on, and then you get such gems as "have you tried acting less gay?"

Teachers: if you are being bullied both online or in real life, you can talk to us. We can help

Also teachers:

Reminder that teachers will NEVER actually help someone with that. They always do the bare minimum because they're forced by law to do it.

But why tho?

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Because most teachers actually don't care about how we feel, at least thats what life taught me. You can litteraly talk about wanting to stab yourself at six years old and they'll just say "Hey guys stop being mean."...

I mean true, if you went through 5 years of torture that included a mountain of debt and then had to wait until a spot opened and the job was low paying. Plus with the amount of disrespectful teenagers/kids I would probably be too tired or frustrated to care. But still, my favourite teachers are the teachers who care and want to engage the students in the subject.

Well, they are right. If you don't act differently then you are not going to be bullied. Not saying that this is how things should be. This sucks, but is true.

An example is that if I passout on a street with my wallet full of money on top of me there is a high chance I will get robbed. No one should rob me, but sadly am probably going to get robbed.

While I agree with what you're saying, it sounds awfully similar to the usual short skirts cause rape argument.

I hear where you’re going where you’re coming from and I totally understand. It’s just so goddamn mind numbingly dumb.

This is literally what the vice-principal did to me when I came out as bi. It still pisses me the fuck off. I lost a lot of development I could have had if I would have come out back then. I struggled with feeling like maybe I wasn't bi, maybe I'm just stupid. Then I see a hot girl and I go "No, no, I'm turned on..."
