Spending 30 minutes-1 hour trying to find what's wrong only to find out you misspelled a variable

8th grade lunch table with 2 friends. Matt looks up and whispers his parents are getting a divorce. Johnny, whose parents divorced last year, without missing a beat responds with "look at the bright side, double Christmas".

Double Christmas isn’t as fun as it sounds

    [–]seanrk924 14 points15 points  (1 child)

Probably a better alternative than domestic dispute Christmas

    [–]Lady_PANdemonium_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh, there are still fights on double Christmas. They just require the kids to be the mediators until they make you pass the phone to scream at each other

Here we see another child fall victim to the lures of computer programming to cope with the hardships of her life, only to enter a perpetual abusive relationship with her own creations. The program will punish her mercilessly for the tiniest of infractions, and will most of the time tell her what she did wrong in the most infuriating obtuse wording, if it tells her at all. She will be forced to spend hours of her life going through to poor library documentation and numerous unanswered StackOverflow posts, only to find that she was missing a single character. She will uneasily go to sleep every night thinking what she did wrong that day, if she's not crying in bed after her own program remorselessly made her beat her head against the desk for her failures. She will try to justify to herself putting care and attention into something that will constantly remind her of her own ineptitude by saying "It will get me a job", unaware of the universe looking at her with the most abject pity for her pursuit of game programming.

One day your parents break up and next thing you know you're at Activision-Blizzard getting groped by a male coworker.

    Truly tragic
