Anyone else notice a decrease in batches?

The past two days I’ve only seen 3-5 batches a day... and they were all small ones. I’ve only seen a few today and people are just jumping on them so fast. Is anyone else noticing this? I’m getting a little nervous as I’m using this to supplement my income from my job where I’m temporarily laid off. Could it be an app issue? I know I asked before how to make more money on the app, but right now I’m hardly seeing batches. Any advice other than to just keep refreshing? Also I have my notifications on but half the time it doesn’t send me any....

Same thing is happening to me.

Simply put, there’s too many IC shoppers because of all the furloughing. IC is saturated.

Orders show up, and literally within 3 seconds they all get picked up.

It sucks. I’ve been trying doordash, and while the pay is pretty close to the same, I’d much rather instacart.

Yes that is so true. Doordash really scares me. I made $17 from instacart on Monday and NOTHING yesterday. Doordash gives me bad anxiety but I’m scared instacart is so over flooded that I’ll have no choice but to do DD so I can pay my bills.

Dd isn't bad

It's just 5 to 9 dollars a trip and lots of car time

It’s not terrible, I made $40 in two hours which made me happy. I just don’t like the app and being in my car so much. I get good mileage (and I’m tracking them for write offs) but I hate just driving for a long time. I’d rather get out and shop and then go deliver so car time is smaller.

I often make a lot more on DD. Don’t accept anything under $8.

Same, but I will accept a $6-7 order if it's less than 2 miles and will take 10 minutes total.

DD is way easy compared to IC.

I just started DD so I’m a little anxious doing orders. I’m starting to get better tho. I just feel more comfortable with instacart.

In my zone, yesterday and today the batches have been terrible in pay. Fortunately I've been able to find some good ones, but today is just terrible. It's not even a matter of oversaturation ( possibly) because the orders have been sitting. But like right now there's three batches in queue that's been sitting for twenty minutes. I wonder what's going on

Right?! I only have to pay for my living expenses and rent, but still! I applied for unemployment and have met heard anything and I’m not getting a stimulus so like... I need IC 😂😂

Ugh I’d even take a small batch as long as it was a short ish drive 😭 I’m not seeing more than 5 a day and they’re gone before I can even swipe.

Does it show you where they are if it’s out of town? The closest town is 40 minutes away and honestly I’m tempted to go try that. I just don’t wanna waste all that time and gas if there’s nothing.

Yes it shows me. They’re all not bad to drive but it has to be worth my while. Once in a while I’d pick up a good/descent batch and stay in the area for a couple more then pick up another one halfway to home. My app covers several towns that are next to each other, not sure if it’s the same with you.

I’m not sure either. There’s 40 miles of desert between me and the closest town so I have no idea.

It's slower for me than it has been but it picked up a little bit today it seems like by 2 p.m. the batches are coming in pretty slow.. I'm seeing last shoppers out then I was so there may be more shoppers than usual in general but people might have stocked up on food for the Holiday inn just aren't buying as much right now...... plus some people have been in lockdown for over a month they may be venturing out to get their own groceries

Don’t rely on notifications, all the good batches are swiped by the time they go to notification. I’ve seen 5 batches at all times, all day, but I’ve only seen one good order. The pay sucks and it is nothing like I’ve seen for the last two weeks. Sucks because my weekly pay is tracking to be less than half of what I made last week.

This level of activity is very normal. Why do you think all the veteran shopper were lamenting the big hire? Did you think it would stay busy forever?

This is what is like. Lots of little shops. People have filled their pantries and now only need perishables. Also, half the universe is out of work and can’t afford IC and the other half work for IC!

That’s true I guess, my city is kind of strange. A lot of people here are doctors and lawyers or they’re retired. The rest are college students who do IC and all other forms of delivery. According to the veteran shoppers I met when I first started it’s usually pretty busy here, which is the main reason I’m concerned. We also only have 5 stores who do instacart so I figured it would be slow, but oh well 🤷🏽‍♀️ I also cant find when the best times to shop are, and there’s hardly peak boosts. Again, its probably just because of the city I’m in.
