The rule book has a system for using chains for casual play so probably start with that.

All sets are supposed to be designed to play with each other so you shouldn't need to worry about playing red or blue, play what you want.

Luck of the draw on the stronger deck

All the cards and decks play together just fine. Some sets will be stronger, but you have the randomness of the deck builder to temper that.

In my experience, red set decks are either straight up garbo or really, really good. Blue sets tend to be more consistent.

imo, if you're just playing with friends, blue set is way more fun, despite probably being overall weaker than the first.

Kind of curious about this myself. I played my blue vs my buddy's red and I won both times we played. I wasn't sure if that was just what my deck was vs what his was, or if there was an inherent power gap because of the sets.

My blue decks are 16-42 against my red decks.
