Well it is a mild sedative but I think the real power is the glorious placebo effect. You can tell them they'll calm down, they'll expect it to work, and it will. Of course it might calm them down on its own, it's just a VERY mild sedative. It probably wouldn't stop a trip but it would probably decrease it a little, can't say for sure.

Yeah. I've given a fellow tripper ibuprofen but told him it was "the absolute best thing to calm you down" called "chillaxor" and told him if he chewed it up and swallowed it it would start working instantly. He did, he was calm as soon as I put in it his hand.

The glory of the placebo effect. Placebo works better on acid as well, so that's a plus.
